לַמְנַצֵּ֤חַ׀ To the chief Musician nāṣaḥ עַל upon ʿal י֬וֹנַת Jonath-elem-rechokim, yônâ אֵ֣לֶם ʾēlem רְ֭חֹקִים rāḥôq לְדָוִ֣ד of David, dāwid מִכְתָּ֑ם Michtam miktām בֶּֽאֱחֹ֨ז took ʾāḥaz אוֹת֖וֹ ʾēt פְלִשְׁתִּ֣ים when the Philistines pĕlištî בְּגַֽת׃ him in Gath. gat

חָנֵּ֣נִי Be merciful ḥānan אֱ֭לֹהִים unto me, O God: ʾĕlōhîm כִּֽי for kî שְׁאָפַ֣נִי would swallow me up; šāʾap אֱנ֑וֹשׁ man ʾĕnôš כָּל kōl הַ֝יּ֗וֹם daily yôm לֹחֵ֥ם he fighting lāḥam יִלְחָצֵֽנִי׃ oppresseth me. lāḥaṣ

שָׁאֲפ֣וּ swallow šāʾap שׁ֭וֹרְרַי Mine enemies šārar כָּל kōl הַיּ֑וֹם would daily yôm כִּֽי up: for kî רַבִּ֨ים many rab לֹחֲמִ֖ים that fight lāḥam לִ֣י מָרֽוֹם׃ against me, O thou most High. mārôm

י֥וֹם What time yôm אִירָ֑א I am afraid, yārēʾ אֲ֝נִ֗י I ʾănî אֵלֶ֥יךָ in thee. ʾēl אֶבְטָֽח׃ will trust bāṭaḥ

בֵּאלֹהִים֮ In God ʾĕlōhîm אֲהַלֵּ֪ל I will praise hālal דְּבָ֫ר֥וֹ his word, dābār בֵּאלֹהִ֣ים in God ʾĕlōhîm בָּ֭טַחְתִּי I have put my trust; bāṭaḥ לֹ֣א I will not lōʾ אִירָ֑א fear yārēʾ מַה what mâ יַּעֲשֶׂ֖ה can do unto me. ʿāśâ בָשָׂ֣ר flesh bāśār לִֽי׃

כָּל Every kōl הַ֭יּוֹם day yôm דְּבָרַ֣י my words: dābār יְעַצֵּ֑בוּ they wrest ʿāṣab עָלַ֖י against ʿal כָּל all kōl מַחְשְׁבֹתָ֣ם their thoughts maḥăšābâ לָרָֽע׃ me for evil. raʿ

יָג֤וּרוּ׀ They gather themselves together, gûr יִצְפּ֗יֹנוּ they hide ṣāpan הֵ֭מָּה themselves, they hēm עֲקֵבַ֣י my steps, ʿāqēb יִשְׁמֹ֑רוּ mark šāmar כַּ֝אֲשֶׁ֗ר when ʾăšer קִוּ֥וּ they wait for qāwâ נַפְשִֽׁי׃ my soul. nepeš

עַל by ʿal אָ֥וֶן iniquity? ʾāwen פַּלֶּט escape pallēṭ לָ֑מוֹ Shall they lĕmô בְּ֝אַ֗ף in anger ʾap עַמִּ֤ים׀ the people, ʿam הוֹרֵ֬ד cast down yārad אֱלֹהִֽים׃ O God. ʾĕlōhîm

נֹדִי֮ my wanderings: nôd סָפַ֪רְתָּ֫ה Thou tellest sāpar אָ֥תָּה thou ʾattâ שִׂ֣ימָה put śûm דִמְעָתִ֣י my tears dimʿâ בְנֹאדֶ֑ךָ into thy bottle: nōd הֲ֝לֹ֗א not lōʾ בְּסִפְרָתֶֽךָ׃ in thy book? sēper

אָ֨ז then ʾāz יָ֘שׁ֤וּבוּ turn šûb אוֹיְבַ֣י shall mine enemies ʾōyēb אָ֭חוֹר back: ʾāḥôr בְּי֣וֹם When yôm אֶקְרָ֑א I cry qārāʾ זֶה this ze יָ֝דַ֗עְתִּי I know; yādaʿ כִּֽי for kî אֱלֹהִ֥ים God for me. ʾĕlōhîm לִֽי׃

בֵּֽ֭אלֹהִים In God ʾĕlōhîm אֲהַלֵּ֣ל will I praise hālal דָּבָ֑ר word: dābār בַּ֝יהוָ֗ה in the Lord yĕhōwâ אֲהַלֵּ֥ל will I praise hālal דָּבָֽר׃ word. dābār

בֵּֽאלֹהִ֣ים In God ʾĕlōhîm בָּ֭טַחְתִּי have I put my trust: bāṭaḥ לֹ֣א I will not lōʾ אִירָ֑א be afraid yārēʾ מַה what mâ יַּעֲשֶׂ֖ה can do unto me. ʿāśâ אָדָ֣ם man ʾādām לִֽי׃

עָלַ֣י upon ʿal אֱלֹהִ֣ים me, O God: ʾĕlōhîm נְדָרֶ֑יךָ Thy vows neder אֲשַׁלֵּ֖ם I will render šālam תּוֹדֹ֣ת praises unto thee. tôdâ לָֽךְ׃

כִּ֤י For kî הִצַּ֪לְתָּ thou hast delivered nāṣal נַפְשִׁ֡י my soul nepeš מִמָּוֶת֮ from death: māwet הֲלֹ֥א not lōʾ רַגְלַ֗י my feet regel מִ֫דֶּ֥חִי from falling, dĕḥî לְ֭הִֽתְהַלֵּךְ that I may walk hālak לִפְנֵ֣י before pānîm אֱלֹהִ֑ים God ʾĕlōhîm בְּ֝א֗וֹר in the light ʾôr הַֽחַיִּֽים׃ of the living? ḥay
