Genesis 24:2
ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪੁਰਾਣਾ ਨੌਕਰ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਦੀ ਹਰ ਚੀਜ਼ ਦਾ ਨਿਗਾਹਬਾਨ ਸੀ। ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੌਕਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੋਲ ਸੱਦ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੇਰੀ ਲੱਤ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਰੱਖ।

ਹੁਣ ਸਮਾਂ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਜਦੋਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਛੇਤੀ ਹੀ ਉਸਦਾ ਦੇਹਾਂਤ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੋਲ ਸੱਦਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਮੇਰੀ ਲੱਤ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਰੱਖ ਅਤੇ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕਰ। ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕਰ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਉਹੀ ਕਰੇਂਗਾ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਆਖਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਤੀ ਵਫ਼ਾਦਾਰ ਰਹੇਂਗਾ। ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਮਰਾ, ਤਾਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਫ਼ਨਾਉਣਾ।

ਇਸ ਲਈ ਪੋਟੀਫ਼ਰ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਸੀ। ਪੋਟੀਫ਼ਰ ਨੇ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਘਰ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧ ਚਲਾਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਦੇਣ ਦੀ ਇਜਾਜ਼ਤ ਦੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ। ਪੋਟੀਫ਼ਰ ਦਾ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਸੀ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਉਸਦਾ ਮੁਖਤਾਰ ਸੀ।

ਪਰ ਅਬਰਾਮ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਇੱਥੇ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਸ਼ੈਅ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੇ ਸੱਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਸੱਕੇ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਕੋਈ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨਹੀਂ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੇਰਾ ਦਮਿਸੱਕ ਵਾਲਾ ਗੁਲਾਮ, ਅਲੀਅਜ਼ਰ ਮੇਰੀ ਮੌਤ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਦ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਾਰਿਸ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।”

ਇਸ ਲਈ ਨੌਕਰ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਦੀ ਲੱਤ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਇਕਰਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਪਰ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੇ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਇਸ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰ ਗੱਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇੱਥੋਂ ਦੀ ਹਰ ਸ਼ੈਅ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿਂਮੇਦਾਰੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
Genesis 44:1
ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਇੱਕ ਜਾਲ ਸੁੱਟਦਾ ਹੈ ਫ਼ੇਰ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨੌਕਰ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਆਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਬੋਰੇ ਓਨੇ ਅਨਾਜ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਦਿਉ ਜਿੰਨਾ ਇਹ ਚੁੱਕ ਸੱਕਣ। ਅਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੇ ਪੈਸੇ ਅਨਾਜ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬੋਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖ ਦਿਉ।

ਸਾਰੇ ਆਗੂ, ਸਿਪਾਹੀ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਵਜੋਂ ਸਵੀਕਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਮੰਨਿਆ।

ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਕਲੀਸਿਯਾ ਦੀ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਚੰਗੇ ਢੰਗ ਨਾਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਉਹ ਮਹਾਨ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਪਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਯੋਗੀ ਹਨ। ਜਿਹੜੇ ਵਡੇਰੇ ਬੋਲ ਚਾਲ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕਾਰਜ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਹਨ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮਹਾਨ ਇੱਜ਼ਤ ਦੇ ਯੋਗੀ ਹਨ।
