Isaiah 8:22
ਜੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਵੱਲ ਦੇਖਣਗੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਾਸ਼ਾ ਭਰਿਆ ਅੰਧਕਾਰ ਹੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਆਵੇਗਾ-ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡਣ ਲਈ ਮਜ਼ਬੂਰ ਹੋਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਹਨੇਰੀ ਨਿਰਾਸ਼ਾ। ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਲੋਕ ਅੰਧਕਾਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਫ਼ਸੇ ਹੋਣਗੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ-ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਕਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸੱਕਣਗੇ।

| trouble | צָרָ֤ה | ṣārâ | tsa-RA |
| darkness, and | וַחֲשֵׁכָה֙ | waḥăšēkāh | va-huh-shay-HA |
| dimness | מְע֣וּף | mĕʿûp | meh-OOF |
| of anguish; | צוּקָ֔ה | ṣûqâ | tsoo-KA |
| driven be shall they and | וַאֲפֵלָ֖ה | waʾăpēlâ | va-uh-fay-LA |
| to darkness. | מְנֻדָּֽח׃ | mĕnuddāḥ | meh-noo-DAHK |
