ਯੋਨਾਥਾਨ ਨੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੂੰ ਖਬਰਦਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ, “ਸਤਰਕ ਰਹੀ! ਸ਼ਾਊਲ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਮੁਕਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਲੱਭ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ। ਤੂੰ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਜਾਕੇ ਖੇਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੁਕ ਜਾ। ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਉ ਨਾਲ ਖੇਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਖੇਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉੱਥੇ ਖਲੋਵਾਂਗੇ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਤੂੰ ਲੁਕਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੋਵੇਂਗਾ ਫ਼ਿਰ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਉ ਨਾਲ ਤੇਰੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਮੈਂ ਵੇਖਾਂਗਾ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਾਂਗਾ।”
