מַשָּׂ֥א The burden maśśāʾ דְבַר of the word dābār יְהוָ֖ה of the Lord yĕhōwâ עַל for ʿal יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל Israel, yiśrāʾēl נְאֻם saith nĕʾum יְהוָ֗ה the Lord, yĕhōwâ נֹטֶ֤ה which stretcheth forth nāṭâ שָׁמַ֙יִם֙ the heavens, šāmayim וְיֹסֵ֣ד and layeth the foundation yāsad אָ֔רֶץ of the earth, ʾereṣ וְיֹצֵ֥ר and formeth yāṣar רֽוּחַ the spirit rûaḥ אָדָ֖ם of man ʾādām בְּקִרְבּֽוֹ׃ within him. qereb

הִנֵּ֣ה Behold, hinnē אָ֠נֹכִי I ʾānōkî שָׂ֣ם will make śûm אֶת ʾēt יְרוּשָׁלִַ֧ם Jerusalem yĕrûšālaim סַף a cup sap רַ֛עַל of trembling raʿal לְכָל unto all kōl הָעַמִּ֖ים the people ʿam סָבִ֑יב round about, sābîb וְגַ֧ם both gam עַל against ʿal יְהוּדָ֛ה Judah yĕhûdâ יִֽהְיֶ֥ה when they shall be hāyâ בַמָּצ֖וֹר in the siege māṣôr עַל against ʿal יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ Jerusalem. yĕrûšālaim

וְהָיָ֣ה hāyâ בַיּוֹם day yôm הַ֠הוּא And in that hûʾ אָשִׂ֨ים will I make śûm אֶת ʾēt יְרוּשָׁלִַ֜ם Jerusalem yĕrûšālaim אֶ֤בֶן stone ʾeben מַֽעֲמָסָה֙ a burdensome maʿămāsâ לְכָל for all kōl הָ֣עַמִּ֔ים people: ʿam כָּל all kōl עֹמְסֶ֖יהָ that burden ʿāmas שָׂר֣וֹט themselves with it shall be cut in pieces, śāraṭ יִשָּׂרֵ֑טוּ śāraṭ וְנֶאֶסְפ֣וּ be gathered together ʾāsap עָלֶ֔יהָ against it. ʿal כֹּ֖ל though all kōl גּוֹיֵ֥י the people gôy הָאָֽרֶץ׃ of the earth ʾereṣ

בַּיּ֨וֹם day, yôm הַה֜וּא In that hûʾ נְאֻם saith nĕʾum יְהוָ֗ה the Lord, yĕhōwâ אַכֶּ֤ה I will smite nākâ כָל every kōl סוּס֙ horse sûs בַּתִּמָּה֔וֹן with astonishment, timmāhôn וְרֹכְב֖וֹ and his rider rākab בַּשִּׁגָּע֑וֹן with madness: šiggāʿôn וְעַל upon ʿal בֵּ֤ית the house bayit יְהוּדָה֙ of Judah, yĕhûdâ אֶפְקַ֣ח and I will open pāqaḥ אֶת ʾēt עֵינַ֔י mine eyes ʿayin וְכֹל֙ every kōl ס֣וּס horse sûs הָֽעַמִּ֔ים of the people ʿam אַכֶּ֖ה and will smite nākâ בַּֽעִוָּרֽוֹן׃ with blindness. ʿiwwārôn

וְאָֽמְר֛וּ shall say ʾāmar אַלֻּפֵ֥י And the governors ʾallûp יְהוּדָ֖ה of Judah yĕhûdâ בְּלִבָּ֑ם in their heart, lēb אַמְצָ֥ה my strength ʾamṣâ לִי֙ יֹשְׁבֵ֣י The inhabitants yāšab יְרוּשָׁלִַ֔ם of Jerusalem yĕrûšālaim בַּיהוָ֥ה in the Lord yĕhōwâ צְבָא֖וֹת of hosts ṣābāʾ אֱלֹהֵיהֶֽם׃ their God. ʾĕlōhîm

בַּיּ֣וֹם day yôm הַה֡וּא In that hûʾ אָשִׂים֩ will I make śûm אֶת ʾēt אַלֻּפֵ֨י the governors ʾallûp יְהוּדָ֜ה of Judah yĕhûdâ כְּֽכִיּ֧וֹר like an hearth kiyyôr אֵ֣שׁ of fire ʾēš בְּעֵצִ֗ים among the wood, ʿēṣ וּכְלַפִּ֥יד and like a torch lappîd אֵשׁ֙ of fire ʾēš בְּעָמִ֔יר in a sheaf; ʿāmîr וְאָ֨כְל֜וּ and they shall devour ʾākal עַל on ʿal יָמִ֧ין the right hand yāmîn וְעַל and on ʿal שְׂמֹ֛אול the left: śĕmōwl אֶת ʾēt כָּל all kōl הָעַמִּ֖ים the people ʿam סָבִ֑יב round about, sābîb וְיָשְׁבָ֨ה shall be inhabited yāšab יְרוּשָׁלִַ֥ם and Jerusalem yĕrûšālaim ע֛וֹד again ʿôd תַּחְתֶּ֖יהָ in her own place, taḥat בִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ in Jerusalem. yĕrûšālaim

וְהוֹשִׁ֧עַ also shall save yāšaʿ יְהוָ֛ה The Lord yĕhōwâ אֶת ʾēt אָהֳלֵ֥י the tents ʾōhel יְהוּדָ֖ה of Judah yĕhûdâ בָּרִֽאשֹׁנָ֑ה first, riʾšôn לְמַ֨עַן that maʿan לֹֽא do not lōʾ תִגְדַּ֜ל magnify gādal תִּפְאֶ֣רֶת the glory tipʾārâ בֵּית of the house bayit דָּוִ֗יד of David dāwid וְתִפְאֶ֛רֶת and the glory tipʾārâ יֹשֵׁ֥ב of the inhabitants yāšab יְרוּשָׁלִַ֖ם of Jerusalem yĕrûšālaim עַל against ʿal יְהוּדָֽה׃ Judah. yĕhûdâ

בַּיּ֣וֹם day yôm הַה֗וּא In that hûʾ יָגֵ֤ן defend gānan יְהוָה֙ shall the Lord yĕhōwâ בְּעַד֙ bĕʿad יוֹשֵׁ֣ב the inhabitants yāšab יְרוּשָׁלִַ֔ם of Jerusalem; yĕrûšālaim וְהָיָ֞ה shall be hāyâ הַנִּכְשָׁ֥ל and he that is feeble kāšal בָּהֶ֛ם בַּיּ֥וֹם day yôm הַה֖וּא among them at that hûʾ כְּדָוִ֑יד as David; dāwid וּבֵ֤ית and the house bayit דָּוִיד֙ of David dāwid כֵּֽאלֹהִ֔ים as God, ʾĕlōhîm כְּמַלְאַ֥ךְ as the angel mălʾok יְהוָ֖ה of the Lord yĕhōwâ לִפְנֵיהֶֽם׃ before them. pānîm

וְהָיָ֖ה And it shall come to pass hāyâ בַּיּ֣וֹם day, yôm הַה֑וּא in that hûʾ אֲבַקֵּ֗שׁ I will seek bāqaš לְהַשְׁמִיד֙ to destroy šāmad אֶת ʾēt כָּל all kōl הַגּוֹיִ֔ם the nations gôy הַבָּאִ֖ים that come bôʾ עַל against ʿal יְרוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ Jerusalem. yĕrûšālaim

וְשָׁפַכְתִּי֩ And I will pour šāpak עַל upon ʿal בֵּ֨ית the house bayit דָּוִ֜יד of David, dāwid וְעַ֣ל׀ and upon ʿal יוֹשֵׁ֣ב the inhabitants yāšab יְרוּשָׁלִַ֗ם of Jerusalem, yĕrûšālaim ר֤וּחַ the spirit rûaḥ חֵן֙ of grace ḥēn וְתַ֣חֲנוּנִ֔ים and of supplications: taḥănûn וְהִבִּ֥יטוּ and they shall look nābaṭ אֵלַ֖י upon ʾēl אֵ֣ת me ʾēt אֲשֶׁר whom ʾăšer דָּקָ֑רוּ they have pierced, dāqar וְסָפְד֣וּ and they shall mourn sāpad עָלָ֗יו for ʿal כְּמִסְפֵּד֙ him, as one mourneth sāpad עַל for ʿal הַיָּחִ֔יד only yāḥîd וְהָמֵ֥ר and shall be in bitterness mārar עָלָ֖יו for ʿal כְּהָמֵ֥ר him, as one that is in bitterness mārar עַֽל for ʿal הַבְּכֽוֹר׃ firstborn. bĕkôr

בַּיּ֣וֹם day yôm הַה֗וּא In that hûʾ יִגְדַּ֤ל shall there be a great gādal הַמִּסְפֵּד֙ mourning mispēd בִּיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם in Jerusalem, yĕrûšālaim כְּמִסְפַּ֥ד as the mourning mispēd הֲדַדְ רִמּ֖וֹן of Hadadrimmon hădadrimmôn בְּבִקְעַ֥ת in the valley biqʿâ מְגִדּֽוֹן׃ of Megiddon. mĕgiddôn

וְסָפְדָ֣ה shall mourn, sāpad הָאָ֔רֶץ And the land ʾereṣ מִשְׁפָּח֥וֹת every mišpāḥâ מִשְׁפָּח֖וֹת family mišpāḥâ לְבָ֑ד apart; bad מִשְׁפַּ֨חַת the family mišpāḥâ בֵּית of the house bayit דָּוִ֤יד of David dāwid לְבָד֙ apart, bad וּנְשֵׁיהֶ֣ם and their wives ʾiššâ לְבָ֔ד apart; bad מִשְׁפַּ֤חַת the family mišpāḥâ בֵּית of the house bayit נָתָן֙ of Nathan nātān לְבָ֔ד apart, bad וּנְשֵׁיהֶ֖ם and their wives apart; ʾiššâ לְבָֽד׃ bad

מִשְׁפַּ֤חַת The family mišpāḥâ בֵּית of the house bayit לֵוִי֙ of Levi lēwî לְבָ֔ד apart, bad וּנְשֵׁיהֶ֖ם and their wives ʾiššâ לְבָ֑ד apart; bad מִשְׁפַּ֤חַת the family mišpāḥâ הַשִּׁמְעִי֙ of Shimei šimʿî לְבָ֔ד apart, bad וּנְשֵׁיהֶ֖ם and their wives apart; ʾiššâ לְבָֽד׃ bad

כֹּ֗ל All kōl הַמִּשְׁפָּחוֹת֙ the families mišpāḥâ הַנִּשְׁאָר֔וֹת that remain, šāʾar מִשְׁפָּחֹ֥ת every family mišpāḥâ מִשְׁפָּחֹ֖ת mišpāḥâ לְבָ֑ד apart, bad וּנְשֵׁיהֶ֖ם and their wives apart. ʾiššâ לְבָֽד׃ bad
