ஜனங்கள் முறிந்தோடினதையும், சவுலும் அவன் குமாரரும் செத்துப்போனதையும், பள்ளத்தாக்கிலுள்ள இஸ்ரவேலர் எல்லரும் கண்டபோது தங்கள் பட்டணங்களை விட்டு ஓடிப்போனார்கள்; அப்பொழுது பெலிஸ்தர் வந்து, அவைகளில் குடியிருந்தார்கள்

மக்கள் பயந்தோடியதையும், சவுலும் அவனுடைய மகன்களும் இறந்துபோனதையும், பள்ளத்தாக்கிலுள்ள இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் எல்லோரும் கண்டபோது தங்களுடைய பட்டணங்களைவிட்டு ஓடிப்போனார்கள்; அப்பொழுது பெலிஸ்தர்கள் வந்து, அவைகளில் குடியிருந்தார்கள்.

அப்பள்ளத்தாக்கில் வாழ்ந்த இஸ்ரவேலர்கள் அனைவரும் தமது சொந்த படை ஓடுவதைக் கண்டனர். சவுலும், அவனது மகன்களும் மரித்துப் போனதைக் கண்டனர். எனவே, இவர்கள் தமது நகரங்களைவிட்டு ஓடிப்போனார்கள். இவர்கள் விட்டுப்போன இடங்களில், பெலிஸ்தர்கள் வந்து நுழைந்தனர். அவ்விடங்களிலே பெலிஸ்தர்கள் குடியேறினார்கள்.
