ஆசாரியனாகிய சாதோக்கு தைலக்கொம்பைக் கூடாரத்திலிருந்து எடுத்துக் கொண்டுபோய், சாலொமோனை அபிஷேகம்பண்ணினான்; அப்பொழுது எக்காளம் ஊதி, ஜனங்களெல்லாரும் ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோன் வாழ்க என்று வாழ்த்தினார்கள்.

ஆசாரியனான சாதோக் பரிசுத்த கூடாரத்தில் இருந்து எண்ணெயை எடுத்துச் சென்றான். அவனது தலையில் அதனை ஊற்றி அரசனாக அபிஷேகம் செய்தான். எக்காளம் ஊத மற்ற ஜனங்கள், “அரசன் சாலொமோன் நீண்ட காலம் வாழட்டும்!” என்று வாழ்த்தினார்கள்.

என் தாசனாகிய தாவீதைக் கண்டுபிடித்தேன்; என் பரிசுத்த தைலத்தினால் அவனை அபிஷேகம்பண்ணினேன்.

அப்பொழுது சாமுவேல் எல்லா ஜனங்களையும் நோக்கி: கர்த்தர் தெரிந்துகொண்டவனைப் பாருங்கள், சமஸ்த ஜனங்களுக்குள்ளும் அவனுக்குச் சமானமானவன் இல்லை என்றான்; அப்பொழுது ஜனங்கள் எல்லாரும் ஆர்ப்பரித்து: ராஜா வாழ்க என்றார்கள்.

அங்கே ஆசாரியாகிய சாதோக்கும் தீர்க்கதரிசியாகிய நாத்தானும் அவனை இஸ்ரவேலின் மேல் ராஜாவாக அபிஷேகம் பண்ணக்கடவர்கள்; பின்பு எக்காள்ம் ஊதி, ராஜாவாகிய சாலொமோன் வாழ்க என்று வாழ்த்துங்கள்.

அவர்கள் அன்றையதினம் மிகுந்த சந்தோஷத்தோடு கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாகப் போஜனபானம்பண்ணி, தாவீதின் குமாரனாகிய சாலொமோனை இரண்டாம்விசை ராஜாவாக்கி, கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக அவனை அதிபதியாகவும், சாதோக்கை ஆசாரியனாகவும் அபிஷேகம்பண்ணினார்கள்.

மேன்மையான சுகந்தவர்க்கங்களாகிய சுத்தமான வெள்ளைப்போளத்தில் பரிசுத்த ஸ்தலத்தின் சேக்கலின்படி ஐந்நூறு சேக்கல் இடையையும், சுகந்த கருவாப்பட்டையிலே அதில் பாதியாகிய இருநூற்று ஐம்பது சேக்கல் இடையையும், சுகந்த வசம்பில் இருநூற்று ஐம்பது சேக்கல் இடையையும்,

அப்பொழுது சாமுவேல்: தைலக்கொம்பை எடுத்து, அவனை அவன் சகோதரர் நடுவிலே அபிஷேகம்பண்ணினான்; அந்நாள்முதற்கொண்டு, கர்த்தருடைய ஆவியானவர் தாவீதின்மேல் வந்து இறங்கியிருந்தார்; சாமுவேல் எழுந்து ராமாவுக்குப் போய்விட்டான்.

அவன் இன்றையதினம் போய், மாடுகளையும் கொழுத்த ஜந்துக்களையும் ஆடுகளையும் திரளாக அடித்து, ராஜாவின் குமாரர் அனைவரையும் இராணுவத்தலைவரையும், ஆசாரியனாகிய அபியத்தாரையும் அழைத்தான்; அவர்கள் அவனுக்கு முன்பாகப் புசித்துக் குடித்து, ராஜாவாகிய அதோனியா வாழ்க என்று சொல்லுகிறார்கள்.

அப்பொழுது அவன்: ராஜகுமாரனை வெளியே கொண்டுவந்து, கிரீடத்தை அவன்மேல் வைத்து, சாட்சியின் ஆகமத்தை அவன் கையிலே கொடுத்தான்; இப்படி அவனை ராஜாவாக்கி அபிஷேகம்பண்ணி: ராஜா வாழ்க என்று சொல்லி கைகொட்டினார்கள்.

பின்பு ராஜகுமாரனை வெளியே கொண்டுவந்து, கிரீடத்தை அவன்மேல் வைத்து, சாட்சியின் ஆகமத்தை அவன் கையிலே கொடுத்து, அவனை ராஜாவாக்கினார்கள்; யோய்தாவும் அவன் குமாரரும் அவனை அபிஷேகம்பண்ணி, ராஜா வாழ்க என்றார்கள்.

இதோ, நடையிலுள்ள தன்னுடைய தூணண்டையிலே ராஜா நிற்கிறதையும், ராஜாவண்டையில் நிற்கிற பிரபுக்களையும், எக்காளம் ஊதுகிறவர்களையும், தேசத்து ஜனங்களெல்லாரும் சந்தோஷப்பட்டு எக்காளங்கள் ஊதுகிறதையும், கீதவாத்தியங்களைப் பிடித்துக்கொண்டு பாடகரும் சங்கீதத்தலைவரும் துதிக்கிறதையும் கண்டாள்; அப்பொழுது அத்தாலியாள் தன் வஸ்திரங்களைக் கிழித்துக்கொண்டு துரோகம் துரோகம் என்று கூவினாள்.
