ஆகையால் அவனுடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் அவனைச் சீரியருடைய ராஜாவின் கையில் ஒப்புக்கொடுத்தார்; அவர்கள் அவனை முறிய அடித்து, அவனுக்கு இருக்கிறவர்களிலே பெரிய கூட்டத்தைச் சிறைபிடித்துத் தமஸ்குவுக்குக் கொண்டுபோனார்கள்; அவன் இஸ்ரவேலுடைய ராஜாவின் கையிலும் ஒப்புக்கொடுக்கப்பட்டான்; இவன் அவனை வெகுவாய் முறிய அடித்தான்.

ஆகாஸ் பாவங்களைச் செய்ததால், ஆராமின் அரசன் ஆகாஸை வெல்லும்படி தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் செய்தார். ஆராமின் அரசனும் அவனது படைகளும் ஆகாஸைத் தோற்கடித்து யூத ஜனங்களில் பலரைச் சிறைபிடித்தனர். ஆராம்Ԕ அரசன், சிறைக் கைதிகளை தமஸ்கு என்ற நகரத்திற்கு அழைத்துச் சென்றான். மேலும் கர்த்தர், இஸ்ரவேல் அரசனான பெக்கா ஆகாஸை வெல்லும்படிச் செய்தார். பெக்காவின் தந்தையின் பெயர் ரெமலியா ஆகும். ஒரே நாளில் பெக்காவும், அவனது படையும் யூதாவில் 1,20,000 வீரர்களைக் கொன்றனர். பெக்கா யூதா வீரர்களை வென்றதற்குக் காரணம் அவர்கள் தம் முற்பிதாக்களின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு அடிபணியவில்லை என்பது ஆகும்.
