அவர்கள் எருசலேமிலுள்ள தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்திற்கு வந்த இரண்டாம் வருஷம் இரண்டாம் மாதத்திலே, செயல்த்தியேலின் குமாரனாகிய செருபாபேலும், யோசதாக்கின் குமாரனாகிய யெசுவாவும், மற்றுமுள்ள அவர்கள் சகோதரராகிய ஆசாரியரும் லேவியரும் சிறையிருப்பிலிருந்து எருசலேமுக்கு வந்த அனைவரும், ஆரம்பஞ்செய்து, இருபதுவயதுமுதல் அதற்குமேற்பட்ட லேவியரைக் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தின் வேலையை நடத்தும்படி வைத்தார்கள்.

எனவே எருசலேமில் உள்ள ஆலயத்திற்கு வந்த இரண்டாவது ஆண்டின், இரண்டாவது மாதத்திற்கு பிறகு செயல்தியேலின் மகனாகிய செருபாபேலும், யோசதாக்கின் மகனாகிய யெசுவாவும் ஆலய வேலையைத் தொடங்கினார்கள். அவர்களின் சகோதரர்களும், ஆசாரியர்களும், லேவியர்களும் அடிமைத்தனத்திலிருந்து திரும்ப எருசலேமுக்கு வந்த ஒவ்வொருவரும் அவர்களோடு வேலைச் செய்தனர். கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தைக் கட்டுவதற்கு லேவியர்களில் இருபது வயதுடையவர்களையும், அதற்கு மேற்பட்ட வயதுடையவர்களையும் தலைவர்கள் ஆக்கினார்கள்.
