யோயாக்கீமின் குமாரனாகிய எகொனியா என்கிற யூதாவுடைய ராஜாவையும் பாபிலோனுக்குச் சிறையாகக் கொண்டுபோகப்பட்ட யூதர் அனைவரையும் நான் இவ்விடத்துக்குத் திரும்பிவரப்பண்ணுவேன்; பாபிலோன் ராஜாவின் நுகத்தை உடைப்பேன் என்றார் என்று சொன்னான்.

நான் யூதாவின் அரசனான எகொனியாவையும் இந்த இடத்திற்குத் திரும்பக் கொண்டு வருவேன். எகொனியா யோயாக்கீமின் மகன், நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் பலவந்தப்படுத்தி வீட்டைவிட்டு அழைத்து பாபிலோனுக்குச் சென்ற ஜனங்கள் அனைவரையும் திரும்பக் கொண்டுவருவேன்’ இந்த வார்த்தை கர்த்தரிடமிருந்து வந்தது. ‘எனவே யூதாவின் ஜனங்கள் மீது பாபிலோன் அரசனால் போடப்பட்ட நுகத்தை நான் உடைப்பேன்!’”
