வலதுகைக்கும் இடதுகைக்கும் வித்தியாசம் அறியாத இலட்சத்து இருபதினாயிரம்பேருக்கு அதிகமான மனுஷரும் அநேக மிருகஜீவன்களும் இருக்கிற மகா நகரமாகிய நினிவேக்காக நான் பரிதபியாமலிருப்பேனோ என்றார்.

நீ ஒரு செடிக்காகக் கவலைப்படுவதானால், நிச்சயமாக நான் நினிவே போன்ற பெரிய நகரத்திற்காக வருத்தப்படலாம். நகரத்தில் ஏராளமான மனிதர்களும் மிருகங்களும் இருக்கிறார்கள். அந்த நகரத்தில் தாங்கள் தீமை செய்து கொண்டிருந்ததை அறியாத 1,20,000 க்கும் மேலான மக்கள் இருக்கிறார்கள்!” என்றார்.

அதை வளர்க்கவுமில்லை. அதற்கு இவ்வளவு இரக்கம் காட்டுகிறாயே! இந்த நினிவே மாநகரில் இலட்சத்து இருபதாயிரத்துக்கும் மேற்பட்ட மக்கள் இருக்கிறார்கள். வலக்கை எது, இடக்கை எது என்று கூடச் சொல்லத் தெரியாத இத்தனை மக்களும், அவர்களோடு எண்ணிறந்த கால்நடைகளும் உள்ள இந்த மாநகருக்கு நான் இரக்கம் காட்டாமல் இருப்பேனா?” என்றார்.
