Jeremiah 29:23
Because they have committed villainy in Israel, and have committed adultery with their neighbours' wives, and have spoken lying words in my name, which I have not commanded them; even I know, and am a witness, says the LORD.

அவர்கள் இஸ்ரவேலில் புத்தியில்லாத காரியத்தைச் செய்து, தங்கள் அயலாருடைய மனைவிகளுடன் விபசாரம்செய்து, நான் அவர்களுக்குச் சொல்லாத பொய்யான வார்த்தையை என் பெயரைச் சொல்லி சொன்னார்கள்; நான் அதை அறிவேன்; அதற்கு நானே சாட்சி என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார் என்று எழுதினான்.

இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்களிடையே அவ்விரண்டு தீர்க்கதரிசிகளும் மிகவும் கெட்டவற்றைச் செய்தனர். அவர்கள் தங்கள் அயலவர் மனைவிகளோடு சோரம் என்னும் பாவத்தைச் செய்தனர். அவர்களும் பொய்களைப் பேசினார்கள். அத்துடன் அப்பொய்கள் கர்த்தராகிய என்னிடமிருந்து வந்தது என்றும் கூறினர். அவற்றைச் செய்யும்படி நானே அவர்களுக்கு சொல்லவில்லை. அவர்கள் என்ன செய்திருக்கிறார்கள் என்று எனக்குத் தெரியும். நானே ஒரு சாட்சி” என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.
