இஸ்ரவேல் வம்சத்தார் அதற்கு மன்னா என்று பேரிட்டார்கள்; அது கொத்துமல்லி அளவாயும் வெண்மைநிறமாயும் இருந்தது, அதின் ருசி தேனிட்ட பணிகாரத்திற்கு ஒப்பாயிருந்தது.
