ராஜாவும், அவருடைய ஆலோசனைக்காரரும், அவருடைய பிரபுக்களும், அங்கேயிருந்த சகல இஸ்ரவேலரும், எங்கள் தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்துக்கென்று எடுத்துக்கொடுத்த காணிக்கையாகிய வெள்ளியையும், பொன்னையும், பணிமுட்டுகளையும் அவர்களிடத்தில் நிறுத்துக் கொடுத்தேன்.

நான் தேவாலயத்திற்குக் கொடுக்கப்பட்ட பொன், வெள்ளி, மற்றுமுள்ள விலையுயர்ந்த பொருட்களையும் எடைபோட்டு பார்த்தேன். நான் அவற்றை தேர்ந்தெடுத்த அந்த 12 ஆசாரியர்களிடமும் கொடுத்தேன். அர்தசஷ்டா அரசனும், அவனது ஆலோசகர்களும், முக்கியமான அதிகாரிகளும், பாபிலோனில் உள்ள இஸ்ரவேலர்களும் தேவனுடைய ஆலயத்திற்காக அவற்றைக் கொடுத்திருந்தார்கள்.
