அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரராகிய சகல ஜனங்களும் புறப்பட்டு, தேவனுடைய வீட்டிற்குப்போய், அங்கே கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் அழுது, தரித்திருந்து, அன்று சாயங்காலமட்டும் உபவாசித்து, கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் சர்வாங்க தகனபலிகளையும் சமாதானபலிகளையும் இட்டு,

சாப்பிட அதைக் கூட்டத்தாருக்குக் கொடுத்தார்கள்; அவர்கள் அந்தக் கூழை எடுத்துச் சாப்பிடுகிறபோது, அதைச் சாப்பிடமுடியாமல்: தேவனுடைய மனிதனே, பானையில் விஷம் இருக்கிறது என்று சத்தமிட்டார்கள்.

பிறகு அதை குடிக்க ஊற்றினார்கள். அவர்கள் குடிக்கப்போகும்போது, “தேவ மனிதனே! இந்தப் பாத்திரத்தில் விஷம் இருக்கிறது” என்று சத்தமிட்டனர். அதனால் அவர்கள் அதனைக் குடிக்க முடியவில்லை.
