ഈ കാര്യം യെഹൂദാപ്രഭുക്കന്മാർ കേട്ടാറെ, അവർ രാജാവിന്റെ അരമനയിൽ നിന്നു യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിലേക്കു കയറിച്ചെന്നു, യഹോവയുടെ ആലയത്തിന്റെ പുതിയ പടിവാതിലിന്റെ പ്രവേശനത്തിങ്കൽ ഇരുന്നു.

എന്നാൽ യിരെമ്യാവെ ജനത്തിന്റെ കയ്യിൽ ഏല്പിച്ചു കൊല്ലാതിരിക്കേണ്ടതിന്നു ശാഫാന്റെ മകനായ അഹീക്കാം അവന്നു പിന്തുണയായിരുന്നു.
