എന്നാൽ അവരിൽ പത്തുപേർ യിശ്മായേലിനോടു: ഞങ്ങളെ കൊല്ലരുതേ; വയലിൽ കോതമ്പു, യവം, എണ്ണ, തേൻ എന്നീവക സംഭാരങ്ങൾ ഞങ്ങൾ ഒളിച്ചുവെച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടു എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു; അതുകൊണ്ടു അവൻ സമ്മതിച്ചു അവരെ അവരുടെ സഹോദരന്മാരോടുകൂടെ കൊല്ലാതെയിരുന്നു.

Ishmael, יִשְׁמָעֵאל֙ yišmāʿēl yeesh-ma-ALE

Slay תְּמִתֵ֔נוּ mût moot
for כִּֽי kî kee
we have יֶשׁ yēš yaysh
לָ֤נוּ
treasures מַטְמֹנִים֙ maṭmôn maht-MONE
in the field, בַּשָּׂדֶ֔ה śāde sa-DEH
of wheat, חִטִּ֥ים ḥiṭṭâ hee-TA
and of barley, וּשְׂעֹרִ֖ים śĕʿōrâ seh-oh-RA
and of oil, וְשֶׁ֣מֶן šemen sheh-MEN
and of honey. וּדְבָ֑שׁ dĕbaš deh-VAHSH
So he forbare, וַיֶּחְדַּ֕ל ḥādal ha-DAHL
them not וְלֹ֥א lōʾ loh
and slew הֱמִיתָ֖ם mût moot
among בְּת֥וֹךְ tāwek ta-VEK
their brethren. אֲחֵיהֶֽם׃ ʾāḥ ak
