தாவீது நோபிலிருக்கிற ஆசாரியனாகிய அகிமெலேக்கினிடம் போனான்; அகிமெலேக்கு நடுக்கத்தோடே தாவீதுக்கு எதிர்கொண்டுபோய்: ஒருவரும் உம்மோடு வராமல், நீர் தனித்து வருகிறது என்ன என்று அவனைக் கேட்டான்.

பின்பு தாவீது வெளியே போனான். யோனத்தான் நகரத்திற்குத் திரும்பிப் போனான். தாவீது நோப் எனும் நகரத்திற்கு ஆசாரியனான அகிமெலேக்கைப் பார்க்கப் போனான். அகிமெலேக்கு தாவீதை சந்திக்க வெளியே வந்தான். அவன் பயத்தால் நடுங்கினான். அவன், “ஏன் தனியாக வந்தீர்கள்? உங்களோடு ஏன் யாரும் வரவில்லை?” என்று கேட்டான்.
