தாவீது: என் குமாரனாகிய சாலொமோன் வாலிபனும் இளைஞனுமாயிருக்கிறான்; கர்த்தருக்குக் கட்டப்படும் ஆலயம் சகல தேசங்களிலும் கீர்த்தியும் மகிமையும் உடையதாய் விளங்கும்படி மகா பெரியதாயிருக்கவேண்டும்; ஆகையால் அதற்காக வேண்டியவைகளை இப்பொழுதே சேகரம்பண்ணவேண்டும் என்று சொல்லி, தாவீது தன் மரணத்திற்கு முன்னே திரளாய்ச் சவதரித்துவைத்தான்.

தாவீது: என்னுடைய மகனாகிய சாலொமோன் வாலிபனும் இளைஞனுமாக இருக்கிறான்; கர்த்தருக்குக் கட்டப்படும் ஆலயம் சகல தேசங்களிலும் புகழும் மகிமையும் உடையதாக விளங்கும்படி மிகப்பெரியதாயிருக்க வேண்டும்; ஆகையால் அதற்காக வேண்டியவைகளை இப்பொழுதே சேமிக்க செய்யவேண்டும் என்று சொல்லி, தாவீது தன்னுடைய மரணத்திற்கு முன்னே அதிகமாக ஆயத்தம் செய்துவைத்தான்.

தாவீது, “நாம் கர்த்தருக்காக மிகவும் மகத்தான ஆலயத்தை கட்டவேண்டும். ஆனால் என் மகன் சாலொமோன் இளைஞனாக இருக்கிறான். அவன் எதையெதை அறிந்துக்கொள்ள வேண்டுமோ அதனை இன்னும் அறிந்துக்கொள்ளவில்லை. கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயமானது மிக மகத்தானதாக இருக்க வேண்டும். அது தன் உயர்வாலும் அழகாலும் அனைத்து நாடுகளிலும் புகழ்பெறும். எனவே, நான் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்தைக் கட்ட திட்டமிடுகிறேன்” என்றான். எனவே தாவீது இறப்பதற்கு முன்பு ஆலயம் கட்டுவதற்கான திட்டங்களை அமைத்தான்.
