அக்காலத்திலே யெரொபெயாம் எருசலேமிலிருந்து வெளியே போகிற போது, சீலோனியனான அகியா என்னும் தீர்க்கதரிசி புதுச்சால்வையைப் போர்த்துக்கொண்டிருந்து, வழியிலே அவனைக் கண்டான்; இருவரும் வயல்வெளியிலே தனித்திருக்கையில்,

அப்பொழுது சவுலின் ஊழியக்காரர்களோடு நின்ற ஏதோமியனாகிய தோவேக்கு பதிலாக: ஈசாயின் மகனை நோபிலிருக்கிற அகிதூபின் மகனான அகிமெலேக்கிடத்தில் வரக்கண்டேன்.

அப்போது ஏதோமியனாகிய தோவேக்கு, சவுலின் அதிகாரிகளோடு நின்று கொண்டிருந்தான். அவன், “நான் தாவீதை நோப்பில் பார்த்தேன். அவன் அகிதூபின் மகனான அகிமெலேக்கைப் பார்க்க வந்தான்.
