2 சாமுவேல் 13
1 இதற்குப்பின்பு தாவீதின் குமாரனாகிய அப்சலோமுக்குத் தாமார் என்னும் பேருள்ள சவுந்தரியமுள்ள சகோதரி இருந்தாள்; அவள்மேல் தாவீதின் குமாரன் அம்னோன் மோகம்கொண்டான்.
2 தன் சகோதரியாகிய தாமாரினிமித்தம் ஏக்கங்கொண்டு வியாதிப்பட்டான்; அவள் கன்னியாஸ்திரீயாயிருந்தாள்; அவளுக்குப் பொல்லாப்புச் செய்ய, அம்னோனுக்கு வருத்தமாய்க் கண்டது.
3 அம்னோனுக்குத் தாவீதுடைய தமையன் சிமியாவின் குமாரனாகிய யோனதாப் என்னும் பேருள்ள ஒரு சிநேகிதன் இருந்தான்; அந்த யோனதாப் மகா தந்திரவாதி.
4 அவன் இவனைப் பார்த்து: ராஜகுமாரனாகிய நீ, நாளுக்குநாள் எதினால் இப்படி மெலிந்துபோகிறாய், எனக்குச்சொல்லமாட்டாயா என்றான். அதற்கு அம்னோன்: என் சகோதரன் அப்சலோமின் சகோதரியாகிய தாமாரின்மேல் நான் ஆசைவைத்திருக்கிறேன் என்றான்.
5 அப்பொழுது யோனதாப் அவனைப்பார்த்து: நீ வியாதிக்காரனைப்போல உன்படுக்கையின்மேல் படுத்துக்கொள்; உன்னைப் பார்க்கிறதற்கு உன் தகப்பனார் வரும்போது, நீ, என் சகோதரியாகிய தாமார் வந்து, எனக்குப் போஜனம்கொடுத்து, அவள் கையினாலே சாப்பிடும்படிக்கு நான் பார்க்க, என் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாக உட்காரும்படி தயவுசெய்யவேண்டும் என்று சொல் என்றான்.
6 அப்படியே அம்னோன் வியாதிக்காரன்போல் படுத்துக்கொண்டு, ராஜா தன்னைப் பார்க்கவந்தபோது, ராஜாவை நோக்கி: என் சகோதரியாகிய தாமார் வந்து நான் அவள் கையினாலே சாப்பிடும்படிக்கு, என் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாக இரண்டு நல்ல பணியாரங்களைப் பண்ணும்படி உத்தரவு கொடுக்கவேண்டும் என்றான்.
7 அப்பொழுது தாவீது, வீட்டுக்குத் தாமாரிடத்தில் ஆள் அனுப்பி, நீ உன் சகோதரனாகிய அம்னோன் வீட்டுக்குப்போய், அவனுக்கு சமையல் பண்ணிக்கொடு என்று சொல்லச்சொன்னான்.
1 And it came to pass after this, that Absalom the son of David had a fair sister, whose name was Tamar; and Amnon the son of David loved her.
2 And Amnon was so vexed, that he fell sick for his sister Tamar; for she was a virgin; and Amnon thought it hard for him to do any thing to her.
3 But Amnon had a friend, whose name was Jonadab, the son of Shimeah David’s brother: and Jonadab was a very subtil man.
4 And he said unto him, Why art thou, being the king’s son, lean from day to day? wilt thou not tell me? And Amnon said unto him, I love Tamar, my brother Absalom’s sister.
5 And Jonadab said unto him, Lay thee down on thy bed, and make thyself sick: and when thy father cometh to see thee, say unto him, I pray thee, let my sister Tamar come, and give me meat, and dress the meat in my sight, that I may see it, and eat it at her hand.
6 So Amnon lay down, and made himself sick: and when the king was come to see him, Amnon said unto the king, I pray thee, let Tamar my sister come, and make me a couple of cakes in my sight, that I may eat at her hand.
7 Then David sent home to Tamar, saying, Go now to thy brother Amnon’s house, and dress him meat.

1 அப்பொழுது பென்யமீன் மனுஷனான பிக்கிரியின் குமாரனாகிய சேபா என்னும் பேருள்ள பேலியாளின் மனுஷன் ஒருவன் தற்செயலாய் அங்கே இருந்தான்; அவன் எக்காளம் ஊதி: எங்களுக்குத் தாவீதினிடத்தில் பங்கும் இல்லை, ஈசாயின் குமாரனிடத்தில் எங்களுக்குச் சுதந்தரமும் இல்லை; இஸ்ரவேலே, நீங்கள் அவரவர் தங்கள் கூடாரங்களுக்குப் போய்விடுங்கள் என்றான்.
And there happened to be there a man of Belial, whose name was Sheba, the son of Bichri, a Benjamite: and he blew a trumpet, and said, We have no part in David, neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse: every man to his tents, O Israel.
2 அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேல் மனுஷர் எல்லாரும் தாவீதை விட்டுப் பின்வாங்கி, பிக்கிரியின் குமாரனாகிய சேபாவைப் பின்பற்றிப் போனார்கள்; யோர்தான் தொடங்கி எருசலேம்மட்டுமுள்ள யூதாமனுஷர் தங்கள் ராஜாவைச் சார்ந்திருந்தார்கள்.
So every man of Israel went up from after David, and followed Sheba the son of Bichri: but the men of Judah clave unto their king, from Jordan even to Jerusalem.
3 தாவீது எருசலேமிலுள்ள தன்வீட்டுக்கு வந்தபோது, வீட்டைக் காக்க ராஜா பின்வைத்துப்போன பத்து மறுமனையாட்டிகளையும் வருவித்து, அவர்களை ஒரு காவல் வீட்டிலே வைத்து பராமரித்தான்; அப்புறம் அவர்களிடத்தில் அவன் பிரவேசிக்கவில்லை; அப்படியே அவர்கள் சாகிற நாள்மட்டும் அடைக்கப்பட்டு, உயிரோடிருக்கிற நாளெல்லாம் விதவைகள்போல் இருந்தார்கள்.
And David came to his house at Jerusalem; and the king took the ten women his concubines, whom he had left to keep the house, and put them in ward, and fed them, but went not in unto them. So they were shut up unto the day of their death, living in widowhood.
4 பின்பு ராஜா அமாசாவைப் பார்த்து: நீ யூதா மனுஷரை மூன்று நாளைக்குள்ளே என்னிடத்தில் வரவழைத்து, நீயும் கூடவந்து இருக்கவேண்டும் என்றான்.
Then said the king to Amasa, Assemble me the men of Judah within three days, and be thou here present.
5 அப்பொழுது அமாசா: யூதாவை அழைப்பிக்கப் போய், தனக்குக் குறித்தகாலத்திலே வராமல் தாமதித்திருந்தான்.
So Amasa went to assemble the men of Judah: but he tarried longer than the set time which he had appointed him.
