அப்பொழுது, ஒரு பணத்துக்கு ஒருபடி கோதுமையென்றும், ஒரு பணத்துக்கு மூன்றுபடி வாற்கோதுமையென்றும், எண்ணெயையும் திராட்சரசத்தையும் சேதப்படுத்தாதே என்றும், நான்கு ஜீவன்களின் மத்தியிலிருந்து உண்டான சத்தத்தைக் கேட்டேன்.

அப்பொழுது, ஒரு வெள்ளிக்காசுக்கு ஒருபடி கோதுமையென்றும், ஒரு வெள்ளிக்காசுக்கு மூன்றுபடி வாற்கோதுமையென்றும், எண்ணெயையும் திராட்சைரசத்தையும் சேதப்படுத்தாதே என்றும், நான்கு ஜீவன்களின் நடுவிலிருந்து உண்டான சத்தத்தைக் கேட்டேன்.

அப்பொழுது ஒருவகை சப்தத்தைக் கேட்டேன். அச்சப்தம் நான்கு உயிருள்ள ஜீவன்களின் மத்தியிலிருந்தே வந்தது. “ஒரு நாள் கூலியாக ஒரு படி கோதுமை. ஒரு நாள் கூலியாக மூன்று படி வாற்கோதுமை, எண்ணெயையும், திராட்சை இரசத்தையும் வீணாக்காதே” என்று கூறிற்று.

நான்கு உயிர்களின் நடுவில் மனிதக் குரல் போன்ற ஓசை ஒன்று கேட்டது. அது, “ஒரு தெனாரியத்துக்கு* கோதுமை அரைப்படி; வாற்கோதுமை ஒன்றரைப் படி; எண்ணெயையும் திராட்சை இரசத்தையும் சேதப்படுத்தவேண்டாம்” என்றது.⒫

Appoluthu, oru panaththukku orupati kothumaiyentum, oru panaththukku moontupati vaarkothumaiyentum, ennnneyaiyum thiraatcharasaththaiyum sethappaduththaathae entum, naanku jeevankalin maththiyilirunthu unndaana saththaththaik kaettaேn.
