சுத்தமுள்ளவர்களுக்குச் சகலமும் சுத்தமாயிருக்கும்; அசுத்தமுள்ளவர்களுக்கும் அவிசுவாசமுள்ளவர்களுக்கும் ஒன்றும் சுத்தமாயிராது; அவர்களுடைய புத்தியும் மனச்சாட்சியும் அசுத்தமாயிருக்கும்.

வாய்க்குள்ளே போகிறது மனுஷனைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்தாது; வாயிலிருந்து புறப்படுகிறதே மனுஷனைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்தும் என்றார்.

ஒரு பொருளும் தன்னிலே தீட்டுள்ளதல்லவென்று கர்த்தராகிய இயேசுவுக்குள் அறிந்து நிச்சயித்திருக்கிறேன்; ஒருபொருளைத் தீட்டுள்ளதென்று எண்ணிக்கொள்ளுகிறவனெவனோ அவனுக்கு அது தீட்டுள்ளதாயிருக்கும்.

விசுவாசிகளும் சத்தியத்தை அறிந்தவர்களும் ஸ்தோத்திரத்தோடே அநுபவிக்கும்படி தேவன் படைத்த போஜனபதார்த்தங்களை விலக்கவும் வேண்டுமென்று அந்தப் பொய்யர் கட்டளையிடுவார்கள்.

அது அவன் இருதயத்தில் போகாமல் வயிற்றிலே போகிறது; அதிலிருந்து எல்லாப் போஜனங்களின் அசுத்தங்களையும் கழிக்கிற ஆசனவழியாய் நீங்கிப்போகும்.

அவர்களை நோக்கி: அந்நிய ஜாதியானுடனே கலந்து அவனிடத்தில் போக்குவரவாயிருப்பது யூதனானவனுக்கு விலக்கப்பட்டிருக்கிறதென்று நீங்கள் அறிந்திருக்கிறீர்கள்; அப்படியிருந்தும், எந்த மனுஷனையும் தீட்டுள்ளவனென்றும் அசுத்தனென்றும் நான் சொல்லாதபடிக்கு தேவன் எனக்குக் காண்பித்திருக்கிறார்.

எப்படியெனில், யாக்கோபினிடத்திலிருந்து சிலர் வருகிறதற்குமுன் அவன் புறஜாதியாருடனே சாப்பிட்டான்; அவர்கள் வந்தபோதோ, விருத்தசேதனமுள்ளவர்களுக்குப் பயந்து, விலகிப் பிரிந்தான்.
