மீதியானியரும், அமலேக்கியரும், சகல கிழக்கத்திப் புத்திரரும், வெட்டுக் கிளிகளைப் போலத் திரளாய்ப் பள்ளத்தாக்கிலே படுத்துக்கிடந்தார்கள்; அவர்களுடைய ஒட்டகங்களுக்கும் கணக்கில்லை, கடற்கரை மணலைப்போலத் திரளாயிருந்தது.

அப்பள்ளத்தாக்கில் மீதியானியரும், அமலேக்கியரும், கிழக்கிலிருந்து வந்த அனைத்து ஜனங்களும் முகாமிட்டுத் தங்கி இருந்தனர். வெட்டுக் கிளிகளின் கூட்டத்தைப் போல அவர்கள் எண்ணிக்கையில் மிகுந்திருந்தனர். கடற்கரை மணலைப் போன்று அவர்களுக்கு ஒட்டகங்கள் இருந்ததுபோல் தோன்றிற்று.
