ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅರಸನು ಅಬ್ಷಾಲೋಮ ನಿಗೆ--ಹಾಗಲ್ಲ; ನನ್ನ ಮಗನೇ, ನಾವು ನಿನಗೆ ಭಾರವಾಗಿರದ ಹಾಗೆ ನಾವೆಲ್ಲರು ಈಗ ಬರುವದಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂದನು. ಅವನು ರಾಜನನ್ನು ಬಲವಂತ ಮಾಡಿದನು; ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಹೋಗಲೊಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಆಶೀ ರ್ವದಿಸಿದನು.

ಹೋಗುವದಕ್ಕೆ ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಎದ್ದಾಗ ಅವನ ಮಾವನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಬಲವಂತ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಆ ರಾತ್ರಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿದ್ದನು.

ಆಗ ಯೋವಾಬನು ನೆಲಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿದ್ದು ಬೊಗ್ಗಿಕೊಂಡು ಅರಸ ನಿಗೆ ವಂದಿಸಿದನು. ಯೋವಾಬನು--ಅರಸನು ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನ ಮಾತಿನ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ನನ್ನ ಒಡೆಯನಾದ ಅರಸನೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ದಯೆದೊರಕಿತೆಂಬದು ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವಕನಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯಿತು ಅಂದನು.
