6 கர்த்தர் அவள் கர்ப்பத்தை அடைத்தபடியினால், அவளுடைய சக்களத்தி அவள் துக்கப்படும்படியாக அவளை மிகவும் விசனப்படுத்துவாள்.
7 அவள் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலயத்திற்குப் போகும் சமயத்தில், அவன் வருஷந்தோறும் அந்தப்பிரகாரமாய்ச் செய்வான்; இவள் அவளை மனமடிவாக்குவாள்; அப்பொழுது அவள் சாப்பிடாமல் அழுதுகொண்டிருப்பாள்.
8 அவன் புருஷனாகிய எல்க்கானா அவளைப் பார்த்து: அன்னாளே, ஏன் அழுகிறாய்? ஏன் சாப்பிடாதிருக்கிறாய்? ஏன் சஞ்சலப்படுகிறாய்? பத்துக் குமாரரைப்பார்க்கிலும் நான் உனக்கு அதிகமல்லவா என்றான்.
6 And her adversary also provoked her sore, for to make her fret, because the Lord had shut up her womb.
7 And as he did so year by year, when she went up to the house of the Lord, so she provoked her; therefore she wept, and did not eat.
8 Then said Elkanah her husband to her, Hannah, why weepest thou? and why eatest thou not? and why is thy heart grieved? am not I better to thee than ten sons?
