அது மிகவும் விசேஷமான நாளாக இருக்கும். அங்கு வெளிச்சமும், குளிரும், மப்பும் இருக்கிறது. கர்த்தர் மட்டுமே அந்த நாளை அறிவார். ஆனால் அங்கே இரவோ, பகலோ இருக்காது. பின்னர், வழக்கமாக இருள் வரும் நேரத்தில் இன்னும் வெளிச்சம் இருக்கும்.

செம்மையானவர்களுக்கு இருளிலே வெளிச்சம் உதிக்கும்; அவன் இரக்கமும் மன உருக்கமும் நீதியுமுள்ளவன்.

உங்களில் எவன் கர்த்தருக்குப் பயந்து, அவருடைய தாசனின் சொல்லைக் கேட்டு தனக்கு வெளிச்சமில்லாததினால் இருட்டிலே நடக்கிறானோ, அவன் கர்த்தருடய நாமத்தை நம்பி, தன் தேவனைச் சார்ந்துகொள்ளக்கடவன்.

எழும்பிப் பிரகாசி; உன் ஒளிவந்தது, கர்த்தருடைய மகிமை உன்மேல் உதித்தது.

பூமியைப் பார்த்தேன், அது ஒழுங்கின்மையும் வெறுமையுமாயிருந்தது; வானங்களைப் பார்த்தேன், அவைகளுக்கு ஒளியில்லாதிருந்தது.

அப்பொழுது நாம் அறிவடைந்து, கர்த்தரை அறியும்படி தொடர்ந்து போவோம்; அவருடைய புறப்படுதல் அருணோதயம்போல ஆயத்தமாயிருக்கிறது; அவர் மழையைப்போலவும், பூமியின்மேல் பெய்யும் முன்மாரி பின்மாரியைப்போலவும் நம்மிடத்தில் வருவார்.

அந்தகாரத்திலும் மரண இருளிலும், உட்கார்ந்திக்கிறவர்களுக்கு வெளிச்சம் தரவும்,

அந்த ஒளி இருளிலே பிரகாசிக்கிறது; இருளானது அதைப் பற்றிக்கொள்ளவில்லை.

என்னிடத்தில் விசுவாசமாயிருக்கிறவனெவனும் இருளில் இராதபடிக்கு, நான் உலகத்தில் ஒளியாக வந்தேன்.

முற்காலத்தில் நீங்கள் அந்தகாரமாயிருந்தீர்கள், இப்பொழுதோ கர்த்தருக்குள் வெளிச்சமாயிருக்கிறீர்கள்; வெளிச்சத்தின் பிள்ளைகளாய் நடந்துகொள்ளுங்கள்.

ஒளியிலுள்ள பரிசுத்தவான்களுடைய சுதந்தரத்தில் பங்கடைவதற்கு, நம்மைத் தகுதியுள்ளவர்களாக்கினவரும்,

அதிக உறுதியான தீர்க்கதரிசனமும் நமக்கு உண்டு; பொழுதுவிடிந்து விடிவெள்ளி உங்கள் இருதயங்களில் உதிக்குமளவும் இருளுள்ள ஸ்தலத்தில் பிரகாசிக்கிற விளக்கைப்போன்ற அவ்வசனத்தைக் கவனித்திருப்பது நலமாயிருக்கும்.

என்னுடைய இரண்டு சாட்சிகளும் இரட்டு வஸ்திரமுடுத்திக்கொண்டிருக்கிறவர்களாய், ஆயிரத்திருநூற்றறுபது நாளளவும் தீர்க்கதரிசனஞ்சொல்லும்படி அவர்களுக்கு அதிகாரம் கொடுப்பேன்.

ஏழாம் தூதன் எக்காளம் ஊதினான்; அப்பொழுது உலகத்தின் ராஜ்யங்கள் நம்முடைய கர்த்தருக்கும், அவருடைய கிறிஸ்துவுக்குமுரிய ராஜ்யங்களாயின; அவர் சதாகாலங்களிலும் ராஜ்யபாரம் பண்ணுவார் என்னும் கெம்பீர சத்தங்கள் வானத்தில் உண்டாயின.
