பேதுரு வாசற்கதவைத் தட்டினபோது ரோதை என்னும் பேர்கொண்ட ஒரு பெண் ஒற்றுக்கேட்க வந்தாள்.

அவர்கள்: நீ உளறுகிறாய் என்றார்கள். அவளோ அவர்தான் என்று உறுதியாகச் சாதித்தாள். அப்பொழுது அவர்கள்: அது பேதுருவுடைய தூதனாக இருக்கலாம் என்றார்கள்.

விசுவாசிகள் ரோதையை நோக்கி, “நீ ஒரு பைத்தியம்!” என்றனர். ஆனால் தான் கூறியது உண்மையே என்று அவள் வற்புறுத்தினாள். எனவே அவர்கள், “அது பேதுருவின் தூதனாக இருக்க வேண்டும்” என்றனர்.
