அப்பொழுது பெஸ்து தன் ஆலோசனைக்காரருடனே ஆலோசித்து: நீ இராயருக்கு அபயமிட்டாயே; இராயரிடத்திற்கே போகக்கடவாயென்று உத்தரவுசொன்னான்.

மனுஷனுடைய கோபம் உமது மகிமையை விளங்கப்பண்ணும்; மிஞ்சுங்கோபத்தை நீர் அடக்குவீர்.

அந்தத்திலுள்ளவைகளை ஆதிமுதற்கொண்டும், இன்னும் செய்யப்படாதவைகளைப் பூர்வகாலமுதற்கொண்டும் அறிவிக்கிறேன்; என் ஆலோசனை நிலைநிற்கும், எனக்குச் சித்தமானவைகளையெல்லாம் செய்வேன் என்று சொல்லி,

ஆண்டவர் கட்டளையிடாதிருக்கக் காரியம் சம்பவிக்கும் என்று சொல்லுகிறவன் யார்?

பூமியின் குடிகள் எல்லாம் ஒன்றுமில்லையென்று எண்ணப்படுகிறார்கள்; அவர் தமது சித்தத்தின்படியே வானத்தின் சேனையையும் பூமியின் குடிகளையும் நடத்துகிறார், அவருடைய கையைத் தடுத்து அவரை நோக்கி: என்ன செய்கிறீரென்று சொல்லத்தக்கவன் ஒருவனும் இல்லை என்றேன்.

அன்று இராத்திரியிலே கர்த்தர் பவுலின் அருகே நின்று: பவுலே, திடன்கொள்; நீ என்னைக்குறித்து எருசலேமில் சாட்சிகொடுத்ததுபோல ரோமாவிலும் சாட்சிகொடுக்கவேண்டும் என்றார்.

அதற்குப் பவுல், தான் இராயருக்கு முன்பாக நியாயம் விசாரிக்கப்படும்படிக்கு நிறுத்திவைக்கப்படவேண்மென்று அபயமிட்டபோது, நான் அவனை இராயனிடத்திற்கு அனுப்புமளவும் காவல்பண்ணும்படி கட்டளையிட்டேன் என்றான்.

அகிரிப்பா பெஸ்துவை நோக்கி: இந்த மனுஷன் இராயனுக்கு அபயமிடாதிருந்தானானால், இவனை விடுதலைபண்ணலாகும் என்றான்.
