அவர் சரீரத்தில் இருந்த நாட்களில், தம்மை மரணத்திலிருந்து இரட்சிக்க வல்லமை உள்ளவரை நோக்கி பலத்த சத்தத்தோடும் கண்ணீரோடும் ஜெபம்பண்ணி, வேண்டுதல்செய்து, தமக்கு உண்டான பயபக்தியினால் கேட்கப்பட்டு,

கிறிஸ்து பூமியில் வாழ்ந்தபோது, அவர் தேவனிடம் உரத்த சத்தத்தோடும் கண்ணீரோடும் பிரார்த்தனை செய்தார். மரணத்திலிருந்து அவரைக் காப்பாற்ற வல்ல ஒருவரிடம் அவர் பிரார்த்தனை செய்தார். தேவன் மீது இயேசுவுக்கு இருந்த மிகுந்த மரியாதையின் காரணமாக தேவன் அப்பிரார்த்தனையை பின்னர் கேட்டார்.
