தாவீது தேவனை நோக்கி: ஜனத்தை எண்ணச் சொன்னவன் நான் அல்லவோ? நான்தான் பாவஞ்செய்தேன்; பொல்லாப͠Ϊு நடப்பிĠύதேன்; இந்த ஆடுகள் என்ன செய்ĠΤு? என் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தாவே, வாதிக்கும்படி உம்முடைய கரம் உம்முடைய ஜனத்திற்கு விரோதமாயிராமல், எனக்கும் என் தகப்பன் வீட்டிற்கும் விரோதமாயிருப்பதாக என்றான்.

தாவீது தேவனை நோக்கி: மக்களை எண்ணச்சொன்னவன் நான் அல்லவோ? நான்தான் பாவம் செய்தேன்; தீங்கு நடக்கச்செய்தேன்; இந்த ஆடுகள் என்ன செய்தது? என்னுடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தாவே, தண்டிக்கும்படி உம்முடைய கரம் உம்முடைய மக்களுக்கு விரோதமாக இராமல், எனக்கும் என்னுடைய தகப்பன் வீட்டிற்கும் விரோதமாக இருப்பதாக என்றான்.

தாவீது தேவனிடம், “பாவம் செய்தவன் நான் ஒருவனே! ஜனங்களை எண்ணி கணக்கிடும்படி நானே கட்டளையிட்டேன்! நானே தவறு செய்தவன்! இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்கள் எந்தத் தவறையும் செய்யவில்லை! தேவனாகிய கர்த்தாவே, என்னையும் என் குடும்பத்தையும் தண்டியும்! உமது ஜனங்களை அழிக்கும் கொடிய நோயை நிறுத்தும்!” என்றான்.
