இப்படி மனப்பூர்வமாய்க் கொடுத்ததற்காக ஜனங்கள் சந்தோஷப்பட்டார்கள்; உத்தம இருதயத்தோடே உற்சாகமாய்க் கர்த்தருக்குக் கொடுத்தார்கள்; தாவீது ராஜாவும் மிகவும் சந்தோஷப்பட்டான்.

பட்டணத்தையும் அதிலுள்ள எல்லாவற்றையும் அக்கினியால் சுட்டெரித்தார்கள்; வெள்ளியையும், பொன்னையும், வெண்கலத்தினாலும், இரும்பினாலும் செய்த பாத்திரங்களை மட்டும் கர்த்தரின் ஆலயப்பொக்கிஷத்தில் சேர்த்தார்கள்.

பின் இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்கள் நகரத்தை எரித்தனர். வெள்ளி, பொன், வெண்கலம், இரும்பு ஆகியவற்றாலான பொருட்களைத் தவிர பிறவற்றை நெருப்புக்கு இரையாக்கினர். அப்பொருட்களை மட்டும் கர்த்தருடைய ஆலய பொக்கிஷத்தில் சேர்ந்தனர்.
