கர்த்தர் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரை நோக்கி: நீங்கள் அவர்களண்டைக்கும் அவர்கள் உங்களண்டைக்கும் பிரவேசிக்கலாகாது; அவர்கள் நிச்சயமாய்த் தங்கள் தேவர்களைப் பின்பற்றும்படி உங்கள் இருதயத்தைச் சாயப்பண்ணுவார்கள் என்று சொல்லியிருந்தார்; சாலொமோன் அவர்கள்மேல் ஆசைவைத்து, அவர்களோடு ஐக்கியமாயிருந்தான்.

எனவே, வாசற்படிக்குள் நுழையும் அவளுடைய நடையின் சத்தத்தை அகியா கேட்டவுடனே, அவன்: யெரொபெயாமின் மனைவியே, உள்ளே வா; உன்னை வேறு பெண்ணாக ஏன் காட்டுகிறாய்? துக்கசெய்தியை உனக்கு அறிவிக்க நான் அனுப்பப்பட்டேன்.

அவள் கதவருகே வந்ததை அறிந்ததும் அவன், “யெரொபெயாமின் மனைவியே வருக, உன்னைப்பற்றி மற்றவர்கள் வேறுயாராகவோ நினைக்கும்படி ஏன் நீ நடந்துக்கொள்கிறாய்? உனக்கு ஒரு கெட்டச்செய்தியை வைத்திருக்கிறேன்.

அவ்வாறே, அவள் வாயிலில் நுழைந்தவுடன், அவளது காலடி ஓசை கேட்ட அகியா கூறியது: “எரொபாவாமின் மனைவியே! உள்ளே வா! மாறுவேடத்தில் நீ வருவது ஏன்? துயரமான செய்தியையே உனக்குச் சொல்ல வேண்டும் என்பது எனக்கு வந்த கட்டளை.⒫
