அப்போஸ்தலர் 9:36
யோப்பா பட்டணத்தில் கிரேக்குப்பாஷையிலே தொற்காள் என்று அர்த்தங்கொள்ளும் தபீத்தாள் என்னும் பேருடைய ஒரு சீஷி இருந்தாள்; அவள் நற்கிரியைகளையும் தருமங்களையும் மிகுதியாய்ச் செய்துகொண்டுவந்தாள்.

இயேசு யூதேயாவிலிருந்து, கலிலேயாவிற்கு வந்தார் என்று அந்த மனிதன் கேள்விப்பட்டபோது, அவரிடத்திற்குப்போய், தன் மகன் மரணவேதனையில் இருக்கிறதினால், அவனைக் குணமாக்குவதற்கு வரவேண்டும் என்று அவரை வேண்டிக்கொண்டான்.

அந்த மனிதன், இயேசு இப்பொழுது யூதேயா நாட்டிலிருந்து கலிலேயாவுக்கு வந்திருக்கிறார் என்று கேள்விப்பட்டான். ஆகையால் அவன் கானா ஊருக்குப் போய் இயேசுவைச் சந்தித்தான். கப்பர்நகூமுக்கு வந்து தன் மகனது நோயைக் குணமாக்கும்படி இயேசுவை வேண்டினான். அவனது மகன் ஏற்கெனவே சாகும் நிலையில் இருந்தான்.
