Jeremiah 29:32
Therefore thus says the LORD; Behold, I will punish Shemaiah the Nehelamite, and his seed: he shall not have a man to dwell among this people; neither shall he behold the good that I will do for my people, says the LORD; because he has taught rebellion against the LORD.

இதோ, நான் நெகெலாமியனாகிய செமாயாவையும், அவன் சந்ததியையும் தண்டிப்பேன்; இந்த மக்கள் நடுவில் குடியிருப்பவன் ஒருவனும் அவனுக்கு இல்லாதிருப்பான்; நான் என் மக்களுக்குச் செய்யும் நன்மையை அவன் காண்பதில்லை என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்; கர்த்தருக்கு விரோதமாக எதிர்த்துப் பேசினான் என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார் என்று சொல் என்றார்.

ஏனென்றால், செமாயா அதனைச் செய்திருந்தான். இதுதான் கர்த்தர் சொல்கிறது: நான் விரைவில் நெகெலாமியனாகிய செமாயாவைத் தண்டிப்பேன். நான் அவனது குடும்பம் முழுவதையும் அழிப்பேன். நான் எனது ஜனங்களுக்குச் செய்யப் போகிற நன்மைகளில் அவன் பங்குக்கொள்ளமாட்டான்’” என்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார். “நான் செமாயாவைத் தண்டிப்பேன். ஏனென்றால் அவன் கர்த்தருக்கு எதிராகத் திரும்பும்படி ஜனங்களுக்குக் கற்றுத்தந்தான்.”
