இவர்கள்மேல் அவர் தமதுகோபத்தின் உக்கிரத்தையும், யுத்தத்தின் வலிமையையும் வரப்பண்ணி, அவர்களைச்சூழ அக்கினிஜுவாலைகளைக் கொளுத்தியிருந்தும் உணராதிருந்தார்கள்; அது அவர்களைத் தகித்தும், அதைமனதிலே வைக்காதேபோனார்கள்.

இவர்கள்மேல் அவர் தமது கோபத்தின் உக்கிரத்தையும், போரின் வலிமையையும் வரச்செய்து, அவர்களைச்சூழ அக்கினிஜூவாலைகளைக் கொளுத்தியிருந்தும் உணராதிருந்தார்கள்; அது அவர்களை எரித்தும், அதை மனதிலே வைக்காதேபோனார்கள்.

எனவே, கர்த்தர் அவர்கள்மீது கோபங்கொண்டார். கர்த்தர் அவர்களுக்கு எதிராக வலிமைமிக்கப் போர்களை உண்டாக்கினார். இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்களைச் சுற்றி நெருப்பு சூழ்ந்ததுபோல் இருந்தது. ஆனால் அவர்கள் நிகழ்வதை அறியாமல் இருந்தார்கள். அவர்கள் எரிந்துகொண்டிருப்பதுபோல் இருந்தனர். ஆனால் அவர்கள் நிகழ்ந்ததைப் புரிந்துகொள்ள முயற்சி செய்யவில்லை.

Therefore he hath poured upon him the fury of his anger, and the strength of battle: and it hath set him on fire round about, yet he knew not; and it burned him, yet he laid it not to heart.

American Standard Version (ASV)
Therefore he poured upon him the fierceness of his anger, and the strength of battle; and it set him on fire round about, yet he knew not; and it burned him, yet he laid it not to heart.

upon עָלָיו֙ ʿal al
him the fury חֵמָ֣ה ḥēmâ hay-MA
of his anger, אַפּ֔וֹ ʾap af
and the strength וֶעֱז֖וּז ʿĕzûz ay-ZOOZ
of battle: מִלְחָמָ֑ה milḥāmâ meel-ha-MA
and it hath set him on fire וַתְּלַהֲטֵ֤הוּ lāhaṭ la-HAHT
round about, מִסָּבִיב֙ sābîb sa-VEEV
not; וְלֹ֣א lōʾ loh
yet he knew יָדָ֔ע yādaʿ ya-DA
and it burned וַתִּבְעַר bāʿar ba-AR
בּ֖וֹ
not וְלֹא lōʾ loh
him, yet he laid יָשִׂ֥ים śûm soom
to עַל ʿal al
