அதற்கு அவர்கள்: சொப்பனம் கண்டோம், அதற்கு அர்த்தம் சொல்லுகிறவன் ஒருவனும் இல்லை என்றார்கள். அதற்கு யோசேப்பு: சொப்பனத்துக்கு அர்த்தம் சொல்லுதல் தேவனுக்குரியதல்லவா? அவைகளை என்னிடத்தில் சொல்லுங்கள் என்றான்.

ராஜாவாகிய யோவாஸ் ஆசாரியனாகிய யோய்தாவையும் மற்ற ஆசாரியர்களையும் அழைப்பித்து: நீங்கள் ஆலயத்தை ஏன் பழுதுபார்க்கவில்லை? இனி நீங்கள் உங்களுக்கு அறிமுகமானவர்கள் கையிலே பணத்தை வாங்காமல், அதை ஆலயத்தைப் பழுதுபார்க்கிறதற்காக விட்டுவிடுங்கள் என்றான்.

எனவே யோவாஸ் அரசன் யோய்தா ஆசாரியனையும் மற்ற ஆசாரியர்களையும் அழைத்து, “ஏன் நீங்கள் ஆலயத் திருப்பணிகள் செய்யவில்லை? ஜனங்களிடமிருந்து பணம் பெற்றுக்கொள்வதையும், அவற்றை பயன்படுத்துவதையும் நிறுத்துங்கள். ஜனங்களின் பணம் ஆலயத் திருப்பணிக்கே பயன்பட வேண்டும்” என்றான்.
