Deuteronomy 4 in Tamil

1 இஸ்ரவேலரே, நீங்கள் பிழைத்திருக்கும்படிக்கும், உங்கள் பிதாக்களின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்குக் கொடுக்கிற தேசத்தில் நீங்கள் பிரவேசித்து அதைச் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொள்ளும்படிக்கும், நீங்கள் கைக்கொள்ளுவதற்கு நான் உங்களுக்குப் போதிக்கிற கட்டளைகளையும் நியாயங்களையும் கேளுங்கள். Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers giveth you.

2 நான் உங்களுக்குக் கற்பிக்கும் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரின் கட்டளைகளை நீங்கள் கைக்கொள்ளும்படி, நான் உங்களுக்குக் கற்பிக்கிற வசனத்தோடே நீங்கள் ஒன்றும் கூட்டவும் வேண்டாம், அதில் ஒன்றும் குறைக்கவும் வேண்டாம். Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

3 பாகால்பேயோரின் நிமித்தம் கர்த்தர் செய்ததை உங்கள் கண்கள் கண்டிருக்கிறது; பாகால்பேயோரைப் பின்பற்றின மனிதரையெல்லாம் உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உன் நடுவில் இராதபடிக்கு அழித்துப்போட்டார். Your eyes have seen what the LORD did because of Baalpeor: for all the men that followed Baalpeor, the LORD thy God hath destroyed them from among you.

4 ஆனாலும் உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரைப் பற்றிக்கொண்ட நீங்களெல்லாரும் இந்நாள்வரைக்கும் உயிரோடிருக்கிறீர்கள். But ye that did cleave unto the LORD your God are alive every one of you this day.

5 நீங்கள் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொள்ளும்படி பிரவேசிக்கும் தேசத்திலே நீங்கள் கைக்கொள்ளும்பொருட்டு, என் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் எனக்குக் கற்பித்தபடியே, நான் உங்களுக்குக் கட்டளைகளையும் நியாயங்களையும் போதித்தேன். Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the LORD my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it.

6 ஆகையால் அவைகளைக் கைக்கொண்டு நடவுங்கள்; ஜனங்களின் கண்களுக்குமுன்பாகவும் இதுவே உங்களுக்கு ஞானமும் விவேகமுமாய் இருக்கும்; அவர்கள் இந்தக் கட்டளைகளையெல்லாம் கேட்டு, இந்தப் பெரிய ஜாதியே ஞானமும் விவேகமுமுள்ள ஜனங்கள் என்பார்கள். Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

7 நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரை நாம் தொழுதுகொள்ளுகிறபோதெல்லாம், அவர் நமக்குச் சமீபமாயிருக்கிறதுபோல, தேவனை இவ்வளவு சமீபமாய்ப் பெற்றிருக்கிற வேறே பெரிய ஜாதி எது? For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the LORD our God is in all things that we call upon him for?

8 இந்நாளில் நான் உங்களுக்கு விதிக்கிற இந்த நியாயப்பிரமாணம் முழுமைக்கும் ஒத்த இவ்வளவு நீதியுள்ள கட்டளைகளையும் நியாயங்களையும் பெற்றிருக்கிற வேறே பெரிய ஜாதி எது? And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?

9 ஓரேபிலே உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்கு முன்பாக நீ நிற்கும்போது, கர்த்தர் என்னை நோக்கி: ஜனங்களை என்னிடத்தில் கூடிவரச்செய்து, என் வார்த்தைகளை அவர்கள் கேட்கும்படி பண்ணுவேன்; அவர்கள் பூமியில் உயிரோடிருக்கும் நாளெல்லாம் எனக்குப் பயந்திருக்கும்படி அவைகளைக் கற்றுக்கொண்டு, தங்கள் பிள்ளைகளுக்கும் போதிக்கக்கடவர்கள் என்று சொல்லிய நாளில், Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons' sons;

10 உன் கண்கள் கண்ட காரியங்களை நீ மறவாதபடிக்கும், உன் ஜீவனுள்ள நாளெல்லாம் அவைகள் உன் இருதயத்தை விட்டு நீங்காதபடிக்கும் நீ எச்சரிக்கையாயிருந்து, உன் ஆத்துமாவைச் ஜாக்கிரதையாய்க் காத்துக்கொள்; அவைகளை உன் பிள்ளைகளுக்கும் உன் பிள்ளைகளின் பிள்ளைகளுக்கும் அறிவிக்கக்கடவாய். Specially the day that thou stoodest before the LORD thy God in Horeb, when the LORD said unto me, Gather me the people together, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and that they may teach their children.

11 நீங்கள் சேர்ந்துவந்து, மலையின் அடிவாரத்தில் நின்றீர்கள்; அந்த மலையில் வானத்தை அளாவிய அக்கினி எரிய, இருளும் மேகமும் அந்தகாரமும் சூழ்ந்தது. And ye came near and stood under the mountain; and the mountain burned with fire unto the midst of heaven, with darkness, clouds, and thick darkness.

12 அந்த அக்கினியின் நடுவிலிருந்து கர்த்தர் உங்களோடே பேசினார்; வார்த்தைகளின் சத்தத்தை நீங்கள் கேட்டீர்கள்; அந்தச் சத்தத்தை நீங்கள் கேட்டதேயன்றி, ஒரு ரூபத்தையும் காணவில்லை. And the LORD spake unto you out of the midst of the fire: ye heard the voice of the words, but saw no similitude; only ye heard a voice.

13 நீங்கள் கைக்கொள்ளவேண்டும் என்று அவர் உங்களுக்குக் கட்டளையிட்ட பத்துக்கற்பனைகளாகிய தம்முடைய உடன்படிக்கையை அவர் உங்களுக்கு அறிவித்து, அவைகளை இரண்டு கற்பலகைகளில் எழுதினார். And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.

14 நீங்கள் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொள்ளப்போகிற தேசத்தில் நீங்கள் கைக்கொள்ளவேண்டிய கட்டளைகளையும் நியாயங்களையும் உங்களுக்குப் போதிக்க வேண்டுமென்று அக்காலத்திலே கர்த்தர் எனக்குக் கட்டளையிட்டார். And the LORD commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and judgments, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go over to possess it.

15 கர்த்தர் ஓரேபிலே அக்கினியின் நடுவிலிருந்து உங்களோடே பேசின நாளில், நீங்கள் ஒரு ரூபத்தையும் காணவில்லை. Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the LORD spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire:

16 ஆகையால் நீங்கள் உங்களைக் கெடுத்துக்கொண்டு, ஆண் உருவும், பெண் உருவும், Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female,

17 பூமியிலிருக்கிற யாதொருமிருகத்தின் உருவும், ஆகாயத்தில் பறக்கிற செட்டையுள்ள யாதொரு பட்சியின் உருவும், The likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air,

18 பூமியிலுள்ள யாதொரு ஊரும் பிராணியின் உருவும், பூமியின்கீழ்த் தண்ணீரிலுள்ள யாதொரு மச்சத்தின் உருவுமாயிருக்கிற இவைகளில் யாதொரு உருவுக்கு ஒப்பான விக்கிரகத்தை உங்களுக்கு உண்டாக்காதபடிக்கும், The likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth:

19 உங்கள் கண்களை வானத்திற்கு ஏறெடுத்து, உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் வானத்தின் கீழெங்கும் இருக்கிற எல்லா ஜனங்களுக்கும் ஏற்படுத்தின வானத்தின் சர்வ சேனைகளாகிய சந்திர சூரிய நட்சத்திரங்களை நோக்கி, அவைகளைத் தொழுது சேவிக்க இணங்காதபடிக்கும், உங்கள் ஆத்துமாக்களைக்குறித்து மிகவும் எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள். And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.

20 இந்நாளில் நீங்கள் இருக்கிறதுபோல, தமக்குச் சுதந்தரமான ஜனமாயிருக்கும்படி, கர்த்தர் உங்களைச் சேர்த்துக்கொண்டு, உங்களை எகிப்து என்னும் இருப்புக்காளவாயிலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணினார். But the LORD hath taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, even out of Egypt, to be unto him a people of inheritance, as ye are this day.

21 கர்த்தர் உங்கள் நிமித்தம் என்மேல் கோபங்கொண்டு, நான் யோர்தானைக் கடந்துபோவதில்லை என்றும், உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உனக்குச் சுதந்தரமாகக் கொடுக்கிற அந்த நல்ல தேசத்தில் நான் பிரவேசிப்பதில்லை என்றும் ஆணையிட்டார். Furthermore the LORD was angry with me for your sakes, and sware that I should not go over Jordan, and that I should not go in unto that good land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance:

22 அதினால் இந்த தேசத்தில் நான் மரணமடையவேண்டும்; நான் யோர்தானைக் கடந்துபோவதில்லை; நீங்களோ கடந்துபோய், அந்த நல்ல தேசத்தைச் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொள்வீர்கள். But I must die in this land, I must not go over Jordan: but ye shall go over, and possess that good land.

23 நீங்களோ உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உங்களோடே பண்ணின உடன்படிக்கையை மறந்து, உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் வேண்டாம் என்று விலக்கின எவ்வித சாயலான விக்கிரகத்தையும் உங்களுக்கு உண்டாக்காதபடிக்கு எச்சரிக்கையாயிருங்கள். Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the LORD your God, which he made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, which the LORD thy God hath forbidden thee.

24 உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் பட்சிக்கிற அக்கினி, அவர் எரிச்சலுள்ள தேவன். For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.

25 நீங்கள் பிள்ளைகளும் பிள்ளைகளின் பிள்ளைகளும் பெற்று, தேசத்தில் வெகுநாள் இருந்தபின்பு, நீங்கள் உங்களைக் கெடுத்து, யாதொருவிக்கிரகத்தையாவது யாதொரு சாயலான சுரூபத்தையாவது பண்ணி, உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தருக்குக் கோபம் உண்டாக்க அவர் பார்வைக்குப் பொல்லாப்பானதைச் செய்தால், When thou shalt beget children, and children's children, and ye shall have remained long in the land, and shall corrupt yourselves, and make a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, and shall do evil in the sight of the LORD thy God, to provoke him to anger:

26 நீங்கள் யோர்தானைக் கடந்து சுதந்தரிக்கப்போகிற தேசத்தில் இராமல், சீக்கிரமாய் முற்றிலும் அழிந்துபோவீர்கள் என்று, இந்நாளில் உங்களுக்கு விரோதமாய் வானத்தையும் பூமியையும் சாட்சி வைக்கிறேன்; நீங்கள் அதிலே நெடுநாள் இராமல் நிர்மூலமாக்கப்படுவீர்கள். I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto ye go over Jordan to possess it; ye shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed.

27 கர்த்தர் உங்களைப் புறஜாதிகளுக்குள்ளே சிதற அடிப்பார்; கர்த்தர் உங்களைக் கொண்டுபோய் விடப்போகிற ஜாதிகளிடத்திலே கொஞ்ச ஜனங்களாய் மீந்திருப்பீர்கள். And the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the LORD shall lead you.

28 அங்கே காணாமலும் கேளாமலும் சாப்பிடாமலும் முகராமலும் இருக்கிற மரமும் கல்லுமான, மனுஷர் கைவேலையாகிய தேவர்களைச் சேவிப்பீர்கள். And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men's hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.

29 அப்பொழுது அங்கேயிருந்து உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரைத் தேடுவாய்; உன் முழு இருதயத்தோடும் உன் முழு ஆத்துமாவோடும் அவரைத் தேடும்போது, அவரைக் கண்டடைவாய். But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.

30 நீ வியாகுலப்பட இவைகளெல்லாம் உன்னைத் தொடர்ந்து பிடிக்கும்போது, கடைசிநாட்களில் உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரிடத்தில் திரும்பி அவர் சத்தத்திற்குக் கீழ்ப்படிவாயானால், When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;

31 உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் இரக்கமுள்ள தேவனாயிருக்கிறபடியால், அவர் உன்னைக் கைவிடவுமாட்டார், உன்னை அழிக்கவுமாட்டார், உன் பிதாக்களுக்குத் தாம் ஆணையிட்டுக் கொடுத்த உடன்படிக்கையை மறக்கவுமாட்டார். (For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

32 தேவன் மனுஷனைப் பூமியிலே சிருஷ்டித்த நாள்முதல் உனக்கு முன் இருந்த பூர்வநாட்களில், வானத்தின் ஒருமுனை தொடங்கி அதின் மறுமுனைமட்டுமுள்ள எவ்விடத்திலாகிலும் இப்படிப்பட்ட பெரிய காரியம் நடந்ததுண்டோ, இப்படிப்பட்ட காரியம் கேள்விப்பட்டதுண்டோ: For ask now of the days that are past, which were before thee, since the day that God created man upon the earth, and ask from the one side of heaven unto the other, whether there hath been any such thing as this great thing is, or hath been heard like it?

33 அக்கினியின் நடுவிலிருந்து பேசுகிற தேவனுடைய சத்தத்தை நீ கேட்டதுபோல யாதொரு ஜனமாவது கேட்டதும் உயிரோடிருந்ததும் உண்டோ. Did ever people hear the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as thou hast heard, and live?

34 அல்லது உங்கள் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் எகிப்திலே உங்கள் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாக உங்களுக்குச் செய்தபடியெல்லாம் தேவன் அந்நிய ஜாதிகளின் நடுவிலிருந்து ஒரு ஜனத்தைச் சோதனைகளினாலும், அடையாளங்களினாலும், அற்புதங்களினாலும், யுத்தத்தினாலும், வல்லமையுள்ள கரத்தினாலும், ஓங்கிய புயத்தினாலும், மகா பயங்கரமான செயல்களினாலும், தமக்கென்று தெரிந்துகொள்ள வகைபண்ணினதுண்டோ என்று நீ விசாரித்துப்பார். Or hath God assayed to go and take him a nation from the midst of another nation, by temptations, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by a stretched out arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?

35 கர்த்தரே தேவன், அவரையல்லாமல் வேறொருவரும் இல்லை என்பதை நீ அறியும்படிக்கு, இது உனக்குக் காட்டப்பட்டது. Unto thee it was showed, that thou mightest know that the LORD he is God; there is none else beside him.

36 உன்னை உபதேசிக்கும்படிக்கு, அவர் வானத்திலிருந்து தமது சத்தத்தை உனக்குக் கேட்கப்பண்ணி, பூமியிலே தமது பெரிய அக்கினியை உனக்குக் காண்பித்தார்; அக்கினியின் நடுவிலிருந்து உண்டான அவருடைய வார்த்தைகளைக் கேட்டாய். Out of heaven he made thee to hear his voice, that he might instruct thee: and upon earth he showed thee his great fire; and thou heardest his words out of the midst of the fire.

37 அவர் உன் பிதாக்களில் அன்பு கூர்ந்தபடியால், அவர்களுடைய பின்சந்ததியைத் தெரிந்துகொண்டு, And because he loved thy fathers, therefore he chose their seed after them, and brought thee out in his sight with his mighty power out of Egypt;

38 உன்னிலும் பலத்த பெரிய ஜாதிகளை உனக்கு முன்னின்று துரத்தவும், உன்னை அழைத்துக்கொண்டுபோய், இந்நாளில் இருக்கிறதுபோல, அவர்கள் தேசத்தை உனக்குச் சுதந்தரமாகக் கொடுக்கவும், உன்னைத் தமது முகத்துக்குமுன் தமது மிகுந்த வல்லமையினால் எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்படப்பண்ணினார். To drive out nations from before thee greater and mightier than thou art, to bring thee in, to give thee their land for an inheritance, as it is this day.

39 ஆகையால், உயர வானத்திலும் தாழ பூமியிலும் கர்த்தரே தேவன், அவரைத் தவிர ஒருவரும் இல்லை என்பதை நீ இந்நாளில் அறிந்து, உன் மனதிலே சிந்தித்து, Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the LORD he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.

40 நீயும் உனக்குப் பின்வரும் உன் பிள்ளைகளும் நன்றாயிருக்கும்படிக்கும், உன் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் உனக்கு என்றைக்கும் கொடுக்கிற தேசத்திலே நீ நீடித்த நாளாயிருக்கும்படிக்கும், நான் இன்று உனக்குக் கற்பிக்கிற அவருடைய கட்டளைகளையும் அவருடைய கற்பனைகளையும் கைக்கொள்ளக்கடவாய் என்றான். Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days upon the earth, which the LORD thy God giveth thee, for ever.

41 முற்பகையின்றிக் கைப்பிசகாய்ப் பிறனைக் கொன்றவன் அடைக்கலப்பட்டணங்களில் ஒரு பட்டணத்தில் தப்பியோடிப்போய்ப் பிழைத்திருக்கும்படியாக, Then Moses severed three cities on this side Jordan toward the sunrising;

42 ரூபனியரைச் சேர்ந்த சமபூமியாகிய வனாந்தரத்திலுள்ள பேசேரும், காத்தியரைச் சேர்ந்த கீலேயாத்திலுள்ள ராமோத்தும், மனாசேயரைச் சேர்ந்த பாசானிலுள்ள கோலானுமாகிய That the slayer might flee thither, which should kill his neighbor unawares, and hated him not in times past; and that fleeing unto one of these cities he might live:

43 மூன்று பட்டணங்களை மோசே யோர்தானுக்கு இப்புறத்தில் சூரியோதய திசையிலே ஏற்படுத்தினான். Namely, Bezer in the wilderness, in the plain country, of the Reubenites; and Ramoth in Gilead, of the Gadites; and Golan in Bashan, of the Manassites.

44 இதுவே மோசே இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரருக்கு விதித்த பிரமாணம். And this is the law which Moses set before the children of Israel:

45 இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டபின்பு, யோர்தானுக்கு இப்புறத்தில் எஸ்போனில் குடியிருந்த எமோரியரின் ராஜாவாகிய சீகோனுடைய தேசத்திலுள்ள பெத்பெயோருக்கு எதிரான பள்ளத்தாக்கிலே, அவர்களுக்கு மோசே சொன்ன சாட்சிகளும் கட்டளைகளும் நியாயங்களும் இவைகளே. These are the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which Moses spake unto the children of Israel, after they came forth out of Egypt.

46 மோசேயும் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரும் எகிப்திலிருந்து புறப்பட்டபின்பு அந்த ராஜாவை முறிய அடித்து, On this side Jordan, in the valley over against Bethpeor, in the land of Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt at Heshbon, whom Moses and the children of Israel smote, after they were come forth out of Egypt:

47 யோர்தானுக்கு இப்புறத்தில் சூரியோதய திசையில் அர்னோன் ஆற்றங்கரையிலுள்ள ஆரோவேர் தொடங்கி எர்மோன் என்னும் சீயோன் மலைவரைக்குமுள்ள தேசமும், And they possessed his land, and the land of Og king of Bashan, two kings of the Amorites, which were on this side Jordan toward the sunrising;

48 யோர்தானுக்கு இப்புறத்தில் சூரியோதய திசையில் அஸ்தோத் பிஸ்காவுக்கும் தாழ்ந்த சமனான வெளியைச் சேர்ந்த கடல்மட்டுமுள்ள சமனான வெளியனைத்துமாகிய, From Aroer, which is by the bank of the river Arnon, even unto mount Sion, which is Hermon,

49 எமோரியருடைய இரண்டு ராஜாக்களின் தேசங்களான சீகோனுடைய தேசத்தையும் பாசானின் ராஜாவாகிய ஓகின் தேசத்தையும் கட்டிக்கொண்டார்கள். And all the plain on this side Jordan eastward, even unto the sea of the plain, under the springs of Pisgah.

1 Isravaelarae, neengal pilaiththirukkumpatikkum, ungal pithaakkalin thaevanaakiya Karththar ungalukkuk kodukkira thaesaththil neengal piravaesiththu athaich suthanthariththukkollumpatikkum, neengal kaikkolluvatharku naan ungalukkup pothikkira kattalaikalaiyum niyaayangalaiyum kaelungal. Now therefore hearken, O Israel, unto the statutes and unto the judgments, which I teach you, for to do them, that ye may live, and go in and possess the land which the LORD God of your fathers giveth you.

2 Naan ungalukkuk karpikkum ungal thaevanaakiya karththarin kattalaikalai neengal kaikkollumpati, naan ungalukkuk karpikkira vasanaththotae neengal ontum koottavum vaenndaam, athil ontum kuraikkavum vaenndaam. Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the LORD your God which I command you.

3 Paakaalpaeyorin nimiththam Karththar seythathai ungal kannkal kanntirukkirathu; paakaalpaeyoraip pinpattina manitharaiyellaam un thaevanaakiya Karththar un naduvil iraathapatikku aliththuppottar. Your eyes have seen what the LORD did because of Baalpeor: for all the men that followed Baalpeor, the LORD thy God hath destroyed them from among you.

4 Aanaalum ungal thaevanaakiya karththaraip pattikkonnda neengalellaarum innaalvaraikkum uyirotirukkireerkal. But ye that did cleave unto the LORD your God are alive every one of you this day.

5 Neengal suthanthariththukkollumpati piravaesikkum thaesaththilae neengal kaikkollumporuttu, en thaevanaakiya Karththar enakkuk karpiththapatiyae, naan ungalukkuk kattalaikalaiyum niyaayangalaiyum pothiththaen. Behold, I have taught you statutes and judgments, even as the LORD my God commanded me, that ye should do so in the land whither ye go to possess it.

6 Aakaiyaal avaikalaik kaikkonndu nadavungal; janangalin kannkalukkumunpaakavum ithuvae ungalukku njaanamum vivaekamumaay irukkum; avarkal inthak kattalaikalaiyellaam kaettu, inthap periya jaathiyae njaanamum vivaekamumulla janangal enpaarkal. Keep therefore and do them; for this is your wisdom and your understanding in the sight of the nations, which shall hear all these statutes, and say, Surely this great nation is a wise and understanding people.

7 Nammutaiya thaevanaakiya karththarai naam tholuthukollukirapothellaam, avar namakkuch sameepamaayirukkirathupola, thaevanai ivvalavu sameepamaayp pettirukkira vaeraே periya jaathi ethu? For what nation is there so great, who hath God so nigh unto them, as the LORD our God is in all things that we call upon him for?

8 Innaalil naan ungalukku vithikkira intha niyaayappiramaanam mulumaikkum oththa ivvalavu neethiyulla kattalaikalaiyum niyaayangalaiyum pettirukkira vaeraே periya jaathi ethu? And what nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day?

9 Oraepilae un thaevanaakiya karththarukku munpaaka nee nirkumpothu, Karththar ennai Nnokki: janangalai ennidaththil kootivarachcheythu, en vaarththaikalai avarkal kaetkumpati pannnuvaen; avarkal poomiyil uyirotirukkum naalellaam enakkup payanthirukkumpati avaikalaik kattaுkkonndu, thangal pillaikalukkum pothikkakkadavarkal entu solliya naalil, Only take heed to thyself, and keep thy soul diligently, lest thou forget the things which thine eyes have seen, and lest they depart from thy heart all the days of thy life: but teach them thy sons, and thy sons' sons;

10 Un kannkal kannda kaariyangalai nee maravaathapatikkum, un jeevanulla naalellaam avaikal un iruthayaththai vittu neengaathapatikkum nee echcharikkaiyaayirunthu, un aaththumaavaich jaakkirathaiyaayk kaaththukkol; avaikalai un pillaikalukkum un pillaikalin pillaikalukkum arivikkakkadavaay. Specially the day that thou stoodest before the LORD thy God in Horeb, when the LORD said unto me, Gather me the people together, and I will make them hear my words, that they may learn to fear me all the days that they shall live upon the earth, and that they may teach their children.

11 Neengal sernthuvanthu, malaiyin ativaaraththil ninteerkal; antha malaiyil vaanaththai alaaviya akkini eriya, irulum maekamum anthakaaramum soolnthathu. And ye came near and stood under the mountain; and the mountain burned with fire unto the midst of heaven, with darkness, clouds, and thick darkness.

12 Antha akkiniyin naduvilirunthu Karththar ungalotae paesinaar; vaarththaikalin saththaththai neengal kaettirkal; anthach saththaththai neengal kaettathaeyanti, oru roopaththaiyum kaanavillai. And the LORD spake unto you out of the midst of the fire: ye heard the voice of the words, but saw no similitude; only ye heard a voice.

13 Neengal kaikkollavaenndum entu avar ungalukkuk kattalaiyitta paththukkarpanaikalaakiya thammutaiya udanpatikkaiyai avar ungalukku ariviththu, avaikalai iranndu karpalakaikalil eluthinaar. And he declared unto you his covenant, which he commanded you to perform, even ten commandments; and he wrote them upon two tables of stone.

14 Neengal suthanthariththukkollappokira thaesaththil neengal kaikkollavaenntiya kattalaikalaiyum niyaayangalaiyum ungalukkup pothikka vaenndumentu akkaalaththilae Karththar enakkuk kattalaiyittar. And the LORD commanded me at that time to teach you statutes and judgments, that ye might do them in the land whither ye go over to possess it.

15 Karththar oraepilae akkiniyin naduvilirunthu ungalotae paesina naalil, neengal oru roopaththaiyum kaanavillai. Take ye therefore good heed unto yourselves; for ye saw no manner of similitude on the day that the LORD spake unto you in Horeb out of the midst of the fire:

16 Aakaiyaal neengal ungalaik keduththukkonndu, aann uruvum, penn uruvum, Lest ye corrupt yourselves, and make you a graven image, the similitude of any figure, the likeness of male or female,

17 Poomiyilirukkira yaathorumirukaththin uruvum, aakaayaththil parakkira settaைyulla yaathoru patchiyin uruvum, The likeness of any beast that is on the earth, the likeness of any winged fowl that flieth in the air,

18 Poomiyilulla yaathoru oorum piraanniyin uruvum, poomiyingeelth thannnneerilulla yaathoru machchaththin uruvumaayirukkira ivaikalil yaathoru uruvukku oppaana vikkirakaththai ungalukku unndaakkaathapatikkum, The likeness of any thing that creepeth on the ground, the likeness of any fish that is in the waters beneath the earth:

19 Ungal kannkalai vaanaththirku aeraெduththu, ungal thaevanaakiya Karththar vaanaththin geelengum irukkira ellaa janangalukkum aerpaduththina vaanaththin sarva senaikalaakiya santhira sooriya natchaththirangalai Nnokki, avaikalaith tholuthu sevikka inangaathapatikkum, ungal aaththumaakkalaikkuriththu mikavum echcharikkaiyaayirungal. And lest thou lift up thine eyes unto heaven, and when thou seest the sun, and the moon, and the stars, even all the host of heaven, shouldest be driven to worship them, and serve them, which the LORD thy God hath divided unto all nations under the whole heaven.

20 Innaalil neengal irukkirathupola, thamakkuch suthantharamaana janamaayirukkumpati, Karththar ungalaich serththukkonndu, ungalai ekipthu ennum iruppukkaalavaayilirunthu purappadappannnninaar. But the LORD hath taken you, and brought you forth out of the iron furnace, even out of Egypt, to be unto him a people of inheritance, as ye are this day.

21 Karththar ungal nimiththam enmael kopangaொnndu, naan yorthaanaik kadanthupovathillai entum, un thaevanaakiya Karththar unakkuch suthantharamaakak kodukkira antha nalla thaesaththil naan piravaesippathillai entum aannaiyittar. Furthermore the LORD was angry with me for your sakes, and sware that I should not go over Jordan, and that I should not go in unto that good land, which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance:

22 Athinaal intha thaesaththil naan maranamataiyavaenndum; naan yorthaanaik kadanthupovathillai; neengalo kadanthupoy, antha nalla thaesaththaich suthanthariththukkolveerkal. But I must die in this land, I must not go over Jordan: but ye shall go over, and possess that good land.

23 Neengalo ungal thaevanaakiya Karththar ungalotae pannnnina udanpatikkaiyai maranthu, ungal thaevanaakiya Karththar vaenndaam entu vilakkina evvitha saayalaana vikkirakaththaiyum ungalukku unndaakkaathapatikku echcharikkaiyaayirungal. Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant of the LORD your God, which he made with you, and make you a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, which the LORD thy God hath forbidden thee.

24 Un thaevanaakiya Karththar patchikkira akkini, avar erichchalulla Dhevan. For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.

25 Neengal pillaikalum pillaikalin pillaikalum pettaு, thaesaththil vekunaal irunthapinpu, neengal ungalaik keduththu, yaathoruvikkirakaththaiyaavathu yaathoru saayalaana suroopaththaiyaavathu pannnni, un thaevanaakiya karththarukkuk kopam unndaakka avar paarvaikkup pollaappaanathaich seythaal, When thou shalt beget children, and children's children, and ye shall have remained long in the land, and shall corrupt yourselves, and make a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, and shall do evil in the sight of the LORD thy God, to provoke him to anger:

26 Neengal yorthaanaik kadanthu suthantharikkappokira thaesaththil iraamal, seekkiramaay muttilum alinthupoveerkal entu, innaalil ungalukku virothamaay vaanaththaiyum poomiyaiyum saatchi vaikkiraேn; neengal athilae nedunaal iraamal nirmoolamaakkappaduveerkal. I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto ye go over Jordan to possess it; ye shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed.

27 Karththar ungalaip purajaathikalukkullae sithara atippaar; Karththar ungalaik konndupoy vidappokira jaathikalidaththilae konja janangalaay meenthiruppeerkal. And the LORD shall scatter you among the nations, and ye shall be left few in number among the heathen, whither the LORD shall lead you.

28 Angae kaannaamalum kaelaamalum saappidaamalum mukaraamalum irukkira maramum kallumaana, manushar kaivaelaiyaakiya thaevarkalaich sevippeerkal. And there ye shall serve gods, the work of men's hands, wood and stone, which neither see, nor hear, nor eat, nor smell.

29 Appoluthu angaeyirunthu un thaevanaakiya karththaraith thaeduvaay; un mulu iruthayaththodum un mulu aaththumaavodum avaraith thaedumpothu, avaraik kanndataivaay. But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.

30 Nee viyaakulappada ivaikalellaam unnaith thodarnthu pitikkumpothu, kataisinaatkalil un thaevanaakiya karththaridaththil thirumpi avar saththaththirkuk geelppativaayaanaal, When thou art in tribulation, and all these things are come upon thee, even in the latter days, if thou turn to the LORD thy God, and shalt be obedient unto his voice;

31 Un thaevanaakiya Karththar irakkamulla thaevanaayirukkirapatiyaal, avar unnaik kaividavumaattar, unnai alikkavumaattar, un pithaakkalukkuth thaam aannaiyittuk koduththa udanpatikkaiyai marakkavumaattar. (For the LORD thy God is a merciful God;) he will not forsake thee, neither destroy thee, nor forget the covenant of thy fathers which he sware unto them.

32 Dhevan manushanaip poomiyilae sirushtiththa naalmuthal unakku mun iruntha poorvanaatkalil, vaanaththin orumunai thodangi athin maraுmunaimattumulla evvidaththilaakilum ippatippatta periya kaariyam nadanthathunntoo, ippatippatta kaariyam kaelvippattathunntoo: For ask now of the days that are past, which were before thee, since the day that God created man upon the earth, and ask from the one side of heaven unto the other, whether there hath been any such thing as this great thing is, or hath been heard like it?

33 Akkiniyin naduvilirunthu paesukira thaevanutaiya saththaththai nee kaettathupola yaathoru janamaavathu kaettathum uyirotirunthathum unntoo. Did ever people hear the voice of God speaking out of the midst of the fire, as thou hast heard, and live?

34 Allathu ungal thaevanaakiya Karththar ekipthilae ungal kannkalukku munpaaka ungalukkuch seythapatiyellaam Dhevan anniya jaathikalin naduvilirunthu oru janaththaich sothanaikalinaalum, ataiyaalangalinaalum, arputhangalinaalum, yuththaththinaalum, vallamaiyulla karaththinaalum, ongiya puyaththinaalum, makaa payangaramaana seyalkalinaalum, thamakkentu therinthukolla vakaipannnninathunntoo entu nee visaariththuppaar. Or hath God assayed to go and take him a nation from the midst of another nation, by temptations, by signs, and by wonders, and by war, and by a mighty hand, and by a stretched out arm, and by great terrors, according to all that the LORD your God did for you in Egypt before your eyes?

35 Karththarae Dhevan, avaraiyallaamal vaeroruvarum illai enpathai nee ariyumpatikku, ithu unakkuk kaattappattathu. Unto thee it was showed, that thou mightest know that the LORD he is God; there is none else beside him.

36 Unnai upathaesikkumpatikku, avar vaanaththilirunthu thamathu saththaththai unakkuk kaetkappannnni, poomiyilae thamathu periya akkiniyai unakkuk kaannpiththaar; akkiniyin naduvilirunthu unndaana avarutaiya vaarththaikalaik kaettay. Out of heaven he made thee to hear his voice, that he might instruct thee: and upon earth he showed thee his great fire; and thou heardest his words out of the midst of the fire.

37 Avar un pithaakkalil anpu koornthapatiyaal, avarkalutaiya pinsanthathiyaith therinthukonndu, And because he loved thy fathers, therefore he chose their seed after them, and brought thee out in his sight with his mighty power out of Egypt;

38 Unnilum palaththa periya jaathikalai unakku munnintu thuraththavum, unnai alaiththukkonndupoy, innaalil irukkirathupola, avarkal thaesaththai unakkuch suthantharamaakak kodukkavum, unnaith thamathu mukaththukkumun thamathu mikuntha vallamaiyinaal ekipthilirunthu purappadappannnninaar. To drive out nations from before thee greater and mightier than thou art, to bring thee in, to give thee their land for an inheritance, as it is this day.

39 Aakaiyaal, uyara vaanaththilum thaala poomiyilum karththarae Dhevan, avaraith thavira oruvarum illai enpathai nee innaalil arinthu, un manathilae sinthiththu, Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the LORD he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.

40 Neeyum unakkup pinvarum un pillaikalum nantayirukkumpatikkum, un thaevanaakiya Karththar unakku entaikkum kodukkira thaesaththilae nee neetiththa naalaayirukkumpatikkum, naan intu unakkuk karpikkira avarutaiya kattalaikalaiyum avarutaiya karpanaikalaiyum kaikkollakkadavaay entan. Thou shalt keep therefore his statutes, and his commandments, which I command thee this day, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee, and that thou mayest prolong thy days upon the earth, which the LORD thy God giveth thee, for ever.

41 Murpakaiyintik kaippisakaayp piranaik kontavan ataikkalappattanangalil oru pattanaththil thappiyotippoyp pilaiththirukkumpatiyaaka, Then Moses severed three cities on this side Jordan toward the sunrising;

42 Roopaniyaraich serntha samapoomiyaakiya vanaantharaththilulla paeserum, kaaththiyaraich serntha geelaeyaaththilulla raamoththum, manaaseyaraich serntha paasaanilulla kolaanumaakiya That the slayer might flee thither, which should kill his neighbor unawares, and hated him not in times past; and that fleeing unto one of these cities he might live:

43 Moontu pattanangalai Moses yorthaanukku ippuraththil sooriyothaya thisaiyilae aerpaduththinaan. Namely, Bezer in the wilderness, in the plain country, of the Reubenites; and Ramoth in Gilead, of the Gadites; and Golan in Bashan, of the Manassites.

44 Ithuvae Moses Israel puththirarukku vithiththa piramaanam. And this is the law which Moses set before the children of Israel:

45 Israel puththirar ekipthilirunthu purappattapinpu, yorthaanukku ippuraththil esponil kutiyiruntha emoriyarin raajaavaakiya seekonutaiya thaesaththilulla pethpeyorukku ethiraana pallaththaakkilae, avarkalukku Moses sonna saatchikalum kattalaikalum niyaayangalum ivaikalae. These are the testimonies, and the statutes, and the judgments, which Moses spake unto the children of Israel, after they came forth out of Egypt.

46 Mosesyum Israel puththirarum ekipthilirunthu purappattapinpu antha raajaavai muriya atiththu, On this side Jordan, in the valley over against Bethpeor, in the land of Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt at Heshbon, whom Moses and the children of Israel smote, after they were come forth out of Egypt:

47 Yorthaanukku ippuraththil sooriyothaya thisaiyil arnon aattangaraiyilulla aarovaer thodangi ermon ennum seeyon malaivaraikkumulla thaesamum, And they possessed his land, and the land of Og king of Bashan, two kings of the Amorites, which were on this side Jordan toward the sunrising;

48 Yorthaanukku ippuraththil sooriyothaya thisaiyil asthoth piskaavukkum thaalntha samanaana veliyaich serntha kadalmattumulla samanaana veliyanaiththumaakiya, From Aroer, which is by the bank of the river Arnon, even unto mount Sion, which is Hermon,

49 Emoriyarutaiya iranndu raajaakkalin thaesangalaana seekonutaiya thaesaththaiyum paasaanin raajaavaakiya okin thaesaththaiyum kattikkonndaarkal. And all the plain on this side Jordan eastward, even unto the sea of the plain, under the springs of Pisgah.
