1 அப்படியே கீரியாத்யாரீமின் மனுஷர் வந்து, கர்த்தருடைய பெட்டியை எடுத்து, மேட்டின் மேலிருக்கிற அபினதாபின் வீட்டிலே கொண்டு வந்து வைத்து, கர்த்தருடைய பெட்டியைக் காக்கும்படிக்கு, அவன் குமாரனாகிய எலெயாசாரைப் பரிசுத்தப்படுத்தினார்கள். And the men of Kirjathjearim came, and fetched up the ark of the LORD, and brought it into the house of Abinadab in the hill, and sanctified Eleazar his son to keep the ark of the LORD.

2 பெட்டி கீரியாத்யாரீமிலே அநேக நாள் தங்கியிருந்தது; இருபது வருஷம் அங்கேயே இருந்தது; இஸ்ரவேல் குடும்பத்தாரெல்லாரும் கர்த்தரை நினைத்து, புலம்பிக்கொண்டிருந்தார்கள். And it came to pass, while the ark abode in Kirjathjearim, that the time was long; for it was twenty years: and all the house of Israel lamented after the LORD.

3 அப்பொழுது சாமுவேல் இஸ்ரவேல் குடும்பத்தார் யாவரையும் நோக்கி: நீங்கள் உங்கள் முழு இருதயத்தோடும் கர்த்தரிடத்தில் திரும்புகிறவர்களானால், அந்நிய தேவர்களையும் அஸ்தரோத்தையும் உங்கள் நடுவிலிருந்து விலக்கி, உங்கள் இருதயத்தைக் கர்த்தருக்கு நேராக்கி, அவர் ஒருவருக்கே ஆராதனைசெய்யுங்கள்; அப்பொழுது அவர் உங்களைப் பெலிஸ்தருடைய கைக்கு நீங்கலாக்கிவிடுவார் என்றான். And Samuel spake unto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye do return unto the LORD with all your hearts, then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the LORD, and serve him only: and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.

4 அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் பாகால்களையும் அஸ்தரோத்தையும் விலக்கிவிட்டு, கர்த்தர் ஒருவருக்கே ஆராதனைசெய்தார்கள். Then the children of Israel did put away Baalim and Ashtaroth, and served the LORD only.

5 பின்பு சாமுவேல்: நான் உங்களுக்காகக் கர்த்தரை மன்றாடும்படிக்கு, இஸ்ரவேலர் எல்லாரையும் மிஸ்பாவிலே கூட்டுங்கள் என்றான். And Samuel said, Gather all Israel to Mizpeh, and I will pray for you unto the LORD.

6 அவர்கள் அப்படியே மிஸ்பாவிலே கூடிவந்து தண்ணீர் மொண்டு, கர்த்தருடைய சந்நிதியில் ஊற்றி, அன்றைய தினம் உபவாசம்பண்ணி, கர்த்தருக்கு விரோதமாய்ப் பாவஞ்செய்தோம் என்று அங்கே சொன்னார்கள்; மிஸ்பாவிலே சாமுவேல் இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரரை நியாயம் விசாரித்துக்கொண்டிருந்தான். And they gathered together to Mizpeh, and drew water, and poured it out before the LORD, and fasted on that day, and said there, We have sinned against the LORD. And Samuel judged the children of Israel in Mizpeh.

7 இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் மிஸ்பாவிலே கூடிவந்ததைப் பெலிஸ்தர் கேள்விப்பட்டபோது, பெலிஸ்தரின் அதிபதிகள் இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு விரோதமாக எதிர்த்து வந்தார்கள்; அதை இஸ்ரவேல் புத்திரர் கேட்டு, பெலிஸ்தரினிமித்தம் பயப்பட்டு, And when the Philistines heard that the children of Israel were gathered together to Mizpeh, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. And when the children of Israel heard it, they were afraid of the Philistines.

8 சாமுவேலை நோக்கி: நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் எங்களைப் பெலிஸ்தரின் கைக்கு நீங்கலாக்கி ரட்சிக்கும்படிக்கு, எங்களுக்காக அவரை நோக்கி ஓயாமல் வேண்டிக்கொள்ளும் என்றார்கள். And the children of Israel said to Samuel, Cease not to cry unto the LORD our God for us, that he will save us out of the hand of the Philistines.

9 அப்பொழுது சாமுவேல் பால்குடிக்கிற ஒரு ஆட்டுக்குட்டியைப் பிடித்து, அதைக் கர்த்தருக்குச் சர்வாங்க தகனபலியாகச் செலுத்தி, இஸ்ரவேலுக்காகக் கர்த்தரை நோக்கி வேண்டிக்கொண்டான்; கர்த்தர் அவனுக்கு மறுமொழி அருளிச் செய்தார். And Samuel took a sucking lamb, and offered it for a burnt offering wholly unto the LORD: and Samuel cried unto the LORD for Israel; and the LORD heard him.

10 சாமுவேல் சர்வாங்க தகனபலியைச் செலுத்துகையில், பெலிஸ்தர் இஸ்ரவேலின்மேல் யுத்தம்பண்ண நெருங்கினார்கள்; கர்த்தர் மகா பெரிய இடிமுழக்கங்களைப் பெலிஸ்தர்மேல் அந்நாளிலே முழங்கப்பண்ணி, அவர்களைக் கலங்கடித்ததினால், அவர்கள் இஸ்ரவேலுக்கு முன்பாகப் பட்டு விழுந்தார்கள். And as Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel: but the LORD thundered with a great thunder on that day upon the Philistines, and discomfited them; and they were smitten before Israel.

11 அப்பொழுது இஸ்ரவேலர் மிஸ்பாவிலிருந்து பெலிஸ்தரைப் பின் தொடர்ந்துபோய், பெத்காரீம் பள்ளத்தாக்குமட்டும் அவர்களை முறிய அடித்தார்கள். And the men of Israel went out of Mizpeh, and pursued the Philistines, and smote them, until they came under Bethcar.

12 அப்பொழுது சாமுவேல் ஒரு கல்லை எடுத்து, மிஸ்பாவுக்கும் சேனுக்கும் நடுவாக நிறுத்தி, இம்மட்டும் கர்த்தர் எங்களுக்கு உதவிசெய்தார் என்று சொல்லி, அதற்கு எபெனேசர் என்று பேரிட்டான். Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Ebenezer, saying, Hitherto hath the LORD helped us.

13 இந்தப்பிரகாரம் பெலிஸ்தர் அப்புறம் இஸ்ரவேலின் எல்லையிலே வராதபடிக்குத் தாழ்த்தப்பட்டார்கள்; சாமுவேலின் நாளெல்லாம் கர்த்தருடைய கை பெலிஸ்தருக்கு விரோதமாய் இருந்தது. So the Philistines were subdued, and they came no more into the coast of Israel: and the hand of the LORD was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.

14 பெலிஸ்தர் இஸ்ரவேல் கையிலிருந்து பிடித்திருந்த எக்ரோன் துவக்கிக் காத்மட்டுமுள்ள பட்டணங்களும் இஸ்ரவேலுக்குத் திரும்பக் கிடைத்தது; அவைகளையும் அவைகளின் எல்லைகளையும் இஸ்ரவேலர் பெலிஸ்தர் கையிலே இராதபடிக்கு, விடுவித்துக் கொண்டார்கள்; இஸ்ரவேலுக்கும் எமோரியருக்கும் சமாதானம் உண்டாயிருந்தது. And the cities which the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel, from Ekron even unto Gath; and the coasts thereof did Israel deliver out of the hands of the Philistines. And there was peace between Israel and the Amorites.

15 சாமுவேல் உயிரோடிருந்த நாளெல்லாம் இஸ்ரவேலை நியாயம் விசாரித்தான். And Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life.

16 அவன் வருஷாவருஷம் புறப்பட்டு, பெத்தேலையும் கில்காலையும் மிஸ்பாவையும் சுற்றிப்போய், அவ்விடங்களிலெல்லாம் இஸ்ரவேலை நியாயம் விசாரித்த பின்பு, And he went from year to year in circuit to Bethel, and Gilgal, and Mizpeh, and judged Israel in all those places.

17 அவன் ராமாவுக்குத் திரும்பிவருவான், அவனுடைய வீடு அங்கே இருந்தது, அங்கே இஸ்ரவேலை நியாயம் விசாரித்து, அவ்விடத்தில் கர்த்தருக்கு ஒரு பலிபீடத்தைக் கட்டினான். And his return was to Ramah; for there was his house; and there he judged Israel; and there he built an altar unto the LORD.

1 Appatiyae geeriyaathyaareemin manushar vanthu, karththarutaiya pettiyai eduththu, maettin maelirukkira apinathaapin veettilae konndu vanthu vaiththu, karththarutaiya pettiyaik kaakkumpatikku, avan kumaaranaakiya eleyaasaaraip Parisuththappaduththinaarkal. And the men of Kirjathjearim came, and fetched up the ark of the LORD, and brought it into the house of Abinadab in the hill, and sanctified Eleazar his son to keep the ark of the LORD.

2 Petti geeriyaathyaareemilae anaeka naal thangiyirunthathu; irupathu varusham angaeyae irunthathu; Israel kudumpaththaarellaarum karththarai ninaiththu, pulampikkonntirunthaarkal. And it came to pass, while the ark abode in Kirjathjearim, that the time was long; for it was twenty years: and all the house of Israel lamented after the LORD.

3 Appoluthu saamuvael Israel kudumpaththaar yaavaraiyum Nnokki: neengal ungal mulu iruthayaththodum karththaridaththil thirumpukiravarkalaanaal, anniya thaevarkalaiyum astharoththaiyum ungal naduvilirunthu vilakki, ungal iruthayaththaik karththarukku naeraakki, avar oruvarukkae aaraathanaiseyyungal; appoluthu avar ungalaip pelistharutaiya kaikku neengalaakkividuvaar entan. And Samuel spake unto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye do return unto the LORD with all your hearts, then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the LORD, and serve him only: and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.

4 Appoluthu Israel puththirar paakaalkalaiyum astharoththaiyum vilakkivittu, Karththar oruvarukkae aaraathanaiseythaarkal. Then the children of Israel did put away Baalim and Ashtaroth, and served the LORD only.

5 Pinpu saamuvael: naan ungalukkaakak karththarai mantadumpatikku, isravaelar ellaaraiyum mispaavilae koottungal entan. And Samuel said, Gather all Israel to Mizpeh, and I will pray for you unto the LORD.

6 Avarkal appatiyae mispaavilae kootivanthu thannnneer monndu, karththarutaiya sannithiyil ootti, antaiya thinam upavaasampannnni, karththarukku virothamaayp paavanjaெythom entu angae sonnaarkal; mispaavilae saamuvael Israel puththirarai niyaayam visaariththukkonntirunthaan. And they gathered together to Mizpeh, and drew water, and poured it out before the LORD, and fasted on that day, and said there, We have sinned against the LORD. And Samuel judged the children of Israel in Mizpeh.

7 Israel puththirar mispaavilae kootivanthathaip pelisthar kaelvippattapothu, pelistharin athipathikal isravaelukku virothamaaka ethirththu vanthaarkal; athai Israel puththirar kaettu, pelistharinimiththam payappattu, And when the Philistines heard that the children of Israel were gathered together to Mizpeh, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. And when the children of Israel heard it, they were afraid of the Philistines.

8 Saamuvaelai Nnokki: nammutaiya thaevanaakiya Karththar engalaip pelistharin kaikku neengalaakki ratchikkumpatikku, engalukkaaka avarai Nnokki oyaamal vaenntikkollum entarkal. And the children of Israel said to Samuel, Cease not to cry unto the LORD our God for us, that he will save us out of the hand of the Philistines.

9 Appoluthu saamuvael paalkutikkira oru aattukkuttiyaip pitiththu, athaik karththarukkuch sarvaanga thakanapaliyaakach seluththi, isravaelukkaakak karththarai Nnokki vaenntikkonndaan; Karththar avanukku maraுmoli arulich seythaar. And Samuel took a sucking lamb, and offered it for a burnt offering wholly unto the LORD: and Samuel cried unto the LORD for Israel; and the LORD heard him.

10 Saamuvael sarvaanga thakanapaliyaich seluththukaiyil, pelisthar isravaelinmael yuththampannna nerunginaarkal; Karththar makaa periya itimulakkangalaip pelistharmael annaalilae mulangappannnni, avarkalaik kalangatiththathinaal, avarkal isravaelukku munpaakap pattu vilunthaarkal. And as Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel: but the LORD thundered with a great thunder on that day upon the Philistines, and discomfited them; and they were smitten before Israel.

11 Appoluthu isravaelar mispaavilirunthu pelistharaip pin thodarnthupoy, pethkaareem pallaththaakkumattum avarkalai muriya atiththaarkal. And the men of Israel went out of Mizpeh, and pursued the Philistines, and smote them, until they came under Bethcar.

12 Appoluthu saamuvael oru kallai eduththu, mispaavukkum senukkum naduvaaka niraுththi, immattum Karththar engalukku uthaviseythaar entu solli, atharku epenaesar entu paerittan. Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Ebenezer, saying, Hitherto hath the LORD helped us.

13 Inthappirakaaram pelisthar appuram isravaelin ellaiyilae varaathapatikkuth thaalththappattarkal; saamuvaelin naalellaam karththarutaiya kai pelistharukku virothamaay irunthathu. So the Philistines were subdued, and they came no more into the coast of Israel: and the hand of the LORD was against the Philistines all the days of Samuel.

14 Pelisthar Israel kaiyilirunthu pitiththiruntha ekron thuvakkik kaathmattumulla pattanangalum isravaelukkuth thirumpak kitaiththathu; avaikalaiyum avaikalin ellaikalaiyum isravaelar pelisthar kaiyilae iraathapatikku, viduviththuk konndaarkal; isravaelukkum emoriyarukkum samaathaanam unndaayirunthathu. And the cities which the Philistines had taken from Israel were restored to Israel, from Ekron even unto Gath; and the coasts thereof did Israel deliver out of the hands of the Philistines. And there was peace between Israel and the Amorites.

15 Saamuvael uyirotiruntha naalellaam isravaelai niyaayam visaariththaan. And Samuel judged Israel all the days of his life.

16 Avan varushaavarusham purappattu, peththaelaiyum kilkaalaiyum mispaavaiyum suttippoy, avvidangalilellaam isravaelai niyaayam visaariththa pinpu, And he went from year to year in circuit to Bethel, and Gilgal, and Mizpeh, and judged Israel in all those places.

17 Avan raamaavukkuth thirumpivaruvaan, avanutaiya veedu angae irunthathu, angae isravaelai niyaayam visaariththu, avvidaththil karththarukku oru palipeedaththaik kattinaan. And his return was to Ramah; for there was his house; and there he judged Israel; and there he built an altar unto the LORD.
