குமாரனாகிய தீமோத்தேயுவே, உன்னைக்குறித்து முன் உண்டான தீர்க்கதரிசனங்களின்படியே, நீ அவைகளை முன்னிட்டு நல்ல போராட்டம்பண்ணும்படி, இந்தக் கட்டளையை உனக்கு ஒப்புவிக்கிறேன்; நீ விசுவாசமும் நல்மனச்சாட்சியும் உடையவனாயிரு.

❮18-19❯என் பிள்ளையாகிய திமொத்தேயுவே, உன்னைப் பற்றி முன்னர் சொல்லப்பட்ட இறைவாக்குகளுக்கு ஏற்ப, நான் உனக்கு இடும் கட்டளை இதுவே: அந்த இறைவாக்குகளைத் துணையாகக் கொண்டு நம்பிக்கையுடனும் நல்மனச்சான்றுடனும், நன்கு போரிடு. சிலர் இம்மனச்சான்றை உதறித் தள்ளிவிட்டதால் விசுவாசம் என்னும் கப்பல் உடைந்து போகச் செய்தனர்.
