Psalm 79 in Tamil

1 தேவனே, புறஜாதியார் உமது சுதந்தரத்தில் வந்து, உமது பரிசுத்த ஆலயத்தைத் தீட்டுப்படுத்தி, எருசலேமை மண்மேடுகளாக்கினார்கள். O god, the heathen are come into thine inheritance; thy holy temple have they defiled; they have laid Jerusalem on heaps.

2 உமது ஊழியக்காரரின் பிரேதங்களை ஆகாயத்துப் பறவைகளுக்கும் உமது பரிசுத்தவான்களின் மாம்சத்தைப் பூமியின் மிருகங்களுக்கும் இரையாகக் கொடுத்தார்கள். The dead bodies of thy servants have they given to be meat unto the fowls of the heaven, the flesh of thy saints unto the beasts of the earth.

3 எருசலேமைச் சுற்றிலும் அவர்களுடைய இரத்தத்தை தண்ணீரைப்போலச் சிந்தினார்கள்; அவர்களை அடக்கம்பண்ணுவாருமில்லை. Their blood have they shed like water round about Jerusalem; and there was none to bury them.

4 எங்கள் அயலாருக்கு நிந்தையும், எங்கள் சுற்றுப்புறத்தாருக்குப் பரியாசமும் சக்கந்தமுமானோம். We are become a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and derision to them that are round about us.

5 எதுவரைக்கும் கர்த்தாவே! நீரென்றக்கும் கோபமாயிருப்பீரோ? உம்முடைய எரிச்சல் அக்கினியைப்போல் எரியுமோ? How long, LORD? wilt thou be angry for ever? shall thy jealousy burn like fire?

6 உம்மை அறியாத ஜாதிகள் உமது நாமத்தைத் தொழுதுகொள்ளாத ராஜ்யங்கள்மேலும் உம்முடைய உக்கிரத்தை ஊற்றிவிடும். Pour out thy wrath upon the heathen that have not known thee, and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon thy name.

7 அவர்கள் யாக்கோபைப் பட்சித்து, அவன் குடியிருப்பைப் பாழாக்கினார்களே. For they have devoured Jacob, and laid waste his dwelling place.

8 பூர்வகாலத்து அக்கிரமங்களை எங்களுக்கு விரோதமாக நினையாதேயும்; உம்முடைய இரக்கங்கள் சீக்கிரமாய் எங்களுக்கு நேரிடுவதாக; நாங்கள் மிகவும் தாழ்த்தப்பட்டுப்போனோம். O remember not against us former iniquities: let thy tender mercies speedily prevent us: for we are brought very low.

9 எங்களை இரட்சிக்கும் தேவனே, நீர் உமது நாமத்தின் மகிமையினிமித்தம் எங்களுக்கு உதவிசெய்து உமது நாமத்தினிமித்தம் எங்களை விடுவித்து, எங்கள் பாவங்களை நிவிர்த்தியாக்கும். Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for thy name's sake.

10 அவர்களுடைய தேவன் எங்கே என்று புறஜாதிகள் சொல்வானேன்? உமது ஊழியக்காரருடைய சிந்துண்ட இரத்தத்தின் பழிவாங்குதல் ஜாதிகளுக்குள்ளே எங்கள் கண்களுக்கு முன்பாக விளங்கும்படி செய்யும். Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is their God? let him be known among the heathen in our sight by the revenging of the blood of thy servants which is shed.

11 கட்டுண்டவனுடைய பெருமூச்சு உமக்கு முன்பாக வரட்டும், கொலைக்கு நியமிக்கப்பட்டவர்களை உமது புயபலத்தினால் உயிரோடே காத்தருளும். Let the sighing of the prisoner come before thee; according to the greatness of thy power preserve thou those that are appointed to die;

12 ஆண்டவரே எங்கள் அயலார் உம்மை நிந்தித்த நிந்தையை, ஏழத்தனையாக அவர்கள் மடியிலே திரும்பப்பண்ணும். And render unto our neighbours sevenfold into their bosom their reproach, wherewith they have reproached thee, O Lord.

13 அப்பொழுது, உம்முடைய ஜனங்களும் உம்முடைய மேய்ச்சலின் ஆடுகளுமாகிய நாங்கள் உம்மை என்றென்றைக்கும் புகழுவோம்; தலைமுறை தலைமுறையாக உமது துதியைச் சொல்லிவருவோம். So we thy people and sheep of thy pasture will give thee thanks for ever: we will shew forth thy praise to all generations.

2 Umathu ooliyakkaararin piraethangalai aakaayaththup paravaikalukkum umathu Parisuththavaankalin maamsaththaip poomiyin mirukangalukkum iraiyaakak koduththaarkal. 3 Erusalaemaich suttilum avarkalutaiya iraththaththai thannnneeraippolach sinthinaarkal; avarkalai adakkampannnuvaarumillai. Their blood have they shed like water round about Jerusalem; and there was none to bury them.

4 Engal ayalaarukku ninthaiyum, engal suttaுppuraththaarukkup pariyaasamum sakkanthamumaanom. We are become a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and derision to them that are round about us.

5 Ethuvaraikkum karththaavae! Neerentakkum kopamaayiruppeero? Ummutaiya erichchal akkiniyaippol eriyumo? How long, LORD? wilt thou be angry for ever? shall thy jealousy burn like fire?

6 Ummai ariyaatha jaathikal umathu naamaththaith tholuthukollaatha raajyangalmaelum ummutaiya ukkiraththai oottividum. Pour out thy wrath upon the heathen that have not known thee, and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon thy name.

7 Avarkal yaakkopaip patchiththu, avan kutiyiruppaip paalaakkinaarkalae. For they have devoured Jacob, and laid waste his dwelling place.

8 Poorvakaalaththu akkiramangalai engalukku virothamaaka ninaiyaathaeyum; ummutaiya irakkangal seekkiramaay engalukku naeriduvathaaka; naangal mikavum thaalththappattupponom. O remember not against us former iniquities: let thy tender mercies speedily prevent us: for we are brought very low.

9 Engalai iratchikkum thaevanae, neer umathu naamaththin makimaiyinimiththam engalukku uthaviseythu umathu naamaththinimiththam engalai viduviththu, engal paavangalai nivirththiyaakkum. Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name: and deliver us, and purge away our sins, for thy name's sake.

10 Avarkalutaiya Dhevan engae entu purajaathikal solvaanaen? Umathu ooliyakkaararutaiya sinthunnda iraththaththin palivaanguthal jaathikalukkullae engal kannkalukku munpaaka vilangumpati seyyum. Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is their God? let him be known among the heathen in our sight by the revenging of the blood of thy servants which is shed.

11 Kattunndavanutaiya perumoochchu umakku munpaaka varattum, kolaikku niyamikkappattavarkalai umathu puyapalaththinaal uyirotae kaaththarulum. Let the sighing of the prisoner come before thee; according to the greatness of thy power preserve thou those that are appointed to die;

12 Aanndavarae engal ayalaar ummai ninthiththa ninthaiyai, aelaththanaiyaaka avarkal matiyilae thirumpappannnum. And render unto our neighbours sevenfold into their bosom their reproach, wherewith they have reproached thee, O Lord.

13 Appoluthu, ummutaiya janangalum ummutaiya maeychchalin aadukalumaakiya naangal ummai ententaikkum pukaluvom; thalaimurai thalaimuraiyaaka umathu thuthiyaich sollivaruvom. So we thy people and sheep of thy pasture will give thee thanks for ever: we will shew forth thy praise to all generations.
