ஏதோமுக்கும், மோவாபுக்கும், அம்மோன் புத்திரருக்கும்,

அக்காலத்தில் பூமியின் ஒருமுனை துவக்கி பூமியின் மறுமுனைவரை கர்த்தரால் கொலை செய்யப்பட்டவர்கள் கிடப்பார்கள்; அவர்கள் புலம்புவார் இல்லாமலும், சேர்க்கப்படாமலும், அடக்கம் செய்யப்படாமலும் பூமியின்மேல் எருவாவார்கள்.

மோவாபைக்குறித்து இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய சேனைகளின் கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறது என்னவென்றால், ஐயோ! நேபோ பாழாக்கப்பட்டது; கீரியாத்தாயீம் வெட்கப்பட்டு, பிடிக்கப்பட்டுப்போயிற்று; மிஸ்காப் வெட்கப்பட்டு, கலங்கிப்போயிற்று.

கர்த்தாவே, எருசலேமின் நாளிலே ஏதோமின் புத்திரரை நினையும்; அவர்கள்: அதை இடித்துப்போடுங்கள், அஸ்திபாரமட்டும் இடித்துப்போடுங்கள் என்று சொன்னார்களே.

எகிப்தையும், Judeவையும், ஏதோமையும், அம்மோன் புத்திரரையும், மோவாபையும், கடைசி எல்லைகளிலுள்ள வனாந்தரக்குடிகளான யாவரையும் தண்டிப்பேன்; புறஜாதியார் அனைவரும் விருத்தசேதனமில்லாதவர்கள்; ஆனாலும் இஸ்ரவேல் வம்சத்தார் அனைவரும் இருதயத்திலே விருத்தசேதனமில்லாதவர்களென்று கர்த்தர் சொல்லுகிறார்.

மோவாபின் பாரம். இரவிலே மோவாபிலுள்ள ஆர் என்னும் பட்டணம் பாழாக்கப்பட்டது, அது சங்காரமாயிற்று; இரவிலே மோவாபிலுள்ள கீர் என்னும் பட்டணம் பாழாக்கப்பட்டது, அது சங்காரமாயிற்று.

கர்த்தருடைய கரம் இந்த மலையிலே தங்கும்; கூளம் எருக்களத்தில் மிதிக்கப்படுவதுபோல, மோவாப் அவர்கீழ் மிதிக்கப்பட்டுப்போம்.

ஜாதிகளே, கேட்கிறதற்குக் கிட்டிவாருங்கள்; ஜனங்களே கவனியுங்கள்; பூமியும் அதின் நிறைவும், பூச்சக்கரமும் அதில் உற்பத்தியான யாவும் கேட்கக்கடவது.

ஏதோமிலும் அதிலுள்ள போஸ்றா பட்டணத்திலுமிருந்து, சாயந்தீர்ந்த வஸ்திரங்களுடையவராகவும், மகத்துவமாய் உடுத்திருக்கிறவராகவும், தமது மகத்தான வல்லமையிலே எழுந்தருளினவராகவும் வருகிற இவர் யார்? நீதியாய்ப் பேசி இரட்சிக்க வல்லவராகிய நான்தானே.

அவைகளை எருசலேமுக்குச் சிதேக்கியா ராஜாவினிடத்தில் வரும் ஸ்தானாபதிகள் கையிலே ஏதோமின் ராஜாவுக்கும் மோவாபின் ராஜாவுக்கும், அம்மோன் புத்திரரின் ராஜாவுக்கும், தீருவின் ராஜாவுக்கும், சீதோனின் ராஜாவுக்கும் அனுப்பி,

ஊத்ஸ்தேசவாசியாகிய ஏதோம் குமாரத்தியே, சந்தோஷித்துக் களிகூரு; பாத்திரம் உன்னிடத்திற்கும் தாண்டிவரும், அப்பொழுது நீ வெறித்து, மானபங்கமாய்க் கிடப்பாய்.

மனுபுத்திரனே, நீ அம்மோன் புத்திரருக்கு எதிராக முகத்தைத்திருப்பி, அவர்களுக்கு விரோதமாகத் தீர்க்கதரிசனம் உரைத்து,

அங்கே ஏலாமும் அதின் ராஜாக்களும் அதின் எல்லாப் பிரபுக்களும் கிடக்கிறார்கள்; பட்டயத்தால் வெட்டுண்டவர்களிடத்தில் இவர்கள் தங்கள் வல்லமையோடுங்கூடக் கிடத்தப்பட்டார்கள்; இவர்கள் விருத்தசேதனமில்லாதவர்களிடத்திலும் குழியில் இறங்குகிறவர்களிடத்திலும் கிடக்கிறார்கள்.

கர்த்தருடைய வார்த்தை எனக்கு உண்டாகி, அவர்:

மேலும்: ஏதோமுடைய மூன்று பாதகங்களினிமித்தமும், நாலு பாதகங்களினிமித்தமும், நான் அவன் ஆக்கினையைத் திருப்பமாட்டேன்; அவன் தன் சகோதரனைப் பட்டயத்தோடே தொடர்ந்து, தன் மனதை இரக்கமற்றதாக்கி, தன் கோபத்தினாலே என்றைக்கும் அவனைப் பீறிப்போட்டு, தன் மூர்க்கத்தை நித்தியகாலமாக வைத்திருக்கிறானே.
