அம்மோன் புத்திரரின் பிரபுக்கள் ஆனூனைப் பார்த்து: தாவீது ஆறுதல் சொல்லுகிறவர்களை உம்மிடத்தில் அனுப்பினது, உம்முடைய தகப்பனைக் கனம்பண்ணுகிறதாய் உமக்குத் தோன்றுகிறதோ? தேசத்தை ஆராயவும், அதைக் கவிழ்த்துப்போடவும், உளவுபார்க்கவும் அல்லவோ, அவன் ஊழியக்காரர் உம்மிடத்தில் வந்தார்கள் என்று சொன்னார்கள்.

அம்மோனியர்களின் பிரபுக்கள் ஆனூனைப் பார்த்து: தாவீது ஆறுதல் சொல்லுகிறவர்களை உம்மிடத்தில் அனுப்பினது, உம்முடைய தகப்பனுக்கு மரியாதை கொடுப்பதாக உமக்குத் தோன்றுகிறதோ? தேசத்தை ஆராயவும், அதைக் கவிழ்த்துப்போடவும், உளவுபார்க்கவும் அல்லவோ, அவனுடைய வேலைக்காரர்கள் உம்மிடத்தில் வந்தார்கள் என்று சொன்னார்கள்.

ஆனால் அம்மோனிய தலைவர்கள் ஆனூனிடம், “முட்டாளாகாதே, தாவீது உண்மையிலேயே உனக்கு ஆறுதல் சொல்லவும், மரித்துப்போன உன் தந்தையைக் கௌரவப்படுத்தவும் தூதுவர்களை அனுப்பவில்லை! அவன் உன்னையும், உன் நாட்டையும் உளவறியவே தூதுவரை அனுப்பியுள்ளான். அவன் உண்மையில் உன் நாட்டை அழிக்கவே விரும்புகிறான்!” என்றனர்.

அப்போது அம்மோனியரின் தலைவர்கள் ஆனூனை நோக்கி, “தாவீது ஆறுதல் கூறுபவர்களை உம்மிடம் அனுப்பியுள்ளது உம் தந்தையைச் சிறப்பிப்பதற்கென்று நினைக்கிறீரா? உமது நாட்டைத் துருவி ஆராயவும், அதை நிலை குலையச் செய்யவும் உளவு பார்க்கவுமே அவன் அலுவலர் வந்துள்ளனர் அன்றோ?” என்று கூறினர்.⒫

Ammon puththirarin pirapukkal aanoonaip paarththu: David aaraுthal sollukiravarkalai ummidaththil anuppinathu, ummutaiya thakappanaik kanampannnukirathaay umakkuth thontukiratho? Thaesaththai aaraayavum, athaik kavilththuppodavum, ulavupaarkkavum allavo, avan ooliyakkaarar ummidaththil vanthaarkal entu sonnaarkal.

to search, לַחְקֹ֨ר ḥāqar ha-KAHR
