உங்கள் சகோதரனும் இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவினிமித்தம் வருகிற உபத்திரவத்திற்கும் அவருடைய ராஜ்யத்திற்கும் அவருடைய பொறுமைக்கும் உங்கள் உடன்பங்காளனுமாயிருக்கிற யோவானாகிய நான் தேவவசனத்தினிமித்தமும், இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவைப்பற்றிய சாட்சியினிமித்தமும் பத்மு என்னும் தீவிலே இருந்தேன்.

கர்த்தர் தெரிந்துகொண்ட இரண்டு வம்சங்களையும் வெறுத்துப்போட்டாரென்று இந்த மக்கள் சொல்லி, தங்களுக்கு முன்பாக என் மக்கள் இனி ஒரு தேசமல்லவென்று அதை இழிவுபடுத்துகிறார்கள் என்பதை நீ காண்கிறதில்லையோ?

“எரேமியா, ஜனங்கள் என்ன சொல்லிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள் என்று பார்த்தாயா? அந்த ஜனங்கள் சொல்லுகிறார்கள். ‘கர்த்தர் இஸ்ரவேல் மற்றும் யூதா என்னும் வம்சங்களை விட்டு திரும்பிவிட்டார். அந்த ஜனங்களை கர்த்தர் தேர்ந்தெடுத்தார். ஆனால், இப்போது அவர் அதனைத் தேசமாக ஏற்றுக்கொள்ளவில்லை நிராகரித்துவிட்டார்.’”
