அப்பொழுது நான்: ஆ, கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவரே, இதோ, என் ஆத்துமா தீட்டுப்படவில்லை; தானாய்ச் செத்ததையாவது, பீறுண்டதையாவது நான் என் சிறுவயதுமுதல் இதுவரைக்கும் சாப்பிட்டதில்லை; அருவருப்பான இறைச்சி என் வாய்க்குட்பட்டதுமில்லை என்றேன்.

அப்பொழுது நான்: ஆ, கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவரே, இதோ, என்னுடைய ஆத்துமா தீட்டுப்படவில்லை; தானாகச் செத்ததையோ, மிருகத்தால் வேட்டையாடப்பட்டதையோ நான் என்னுடைய சிறுவயதுமுதல் இதுவரைக்கும் சாப்பிட்டதில்லை; அருவருப்பான இறைச்சி என்னுடைய வாய்க்குள் போனதுமில்லை என்றேன்.

பிறகு நான் (எசேக்கியேல்) சொன்னேன் “ஓ, எனது கர்த்தராகிய ஆண்டவரே, நான் என்றைக்கும் அசுத்தமான உணவை உண்டதில்லை. நான் இது வரை நோயால் மரித்த அல்லது காட்டுமிருகத்தால் கொல்லப்பட்ட மிருகத்தின் இறைச்சியைத் தின்றதில்லை. நான் சிறுவனாய் இருந்த நாள் முதல் இன்றுவரை அசுத்தமான இறைச்சியைத் தின்றதில்லை. இத்தகைய மோசமான இறைச்சி என் வாய்க்குள் நுழைந்ததில்லை”.

அப்போது நான், “தலைவராகிய ஆண்டவரே! நான் ஒருபோதும் தீட்டுப்பட்டதில்லை. என் இளமை முதல் இப்போதுவரை தானாய்ச் செத்ததையோ, மற்ற விலங்குகளால் கிழிக்கப்பட்டதையோ நான் உண்டதில்லை. தீட்டான இறைச்சி கூட என் வாயில் நுழைந்ததே இல்லை” என்றேன்.

Then said I, Ah Lord GOD! behold, my soul hath not been polluted: for from my youth up even till now have I not eaten of that which dieth of itself, or is torn in pieces; neither came there abominable flesh into my mouth.

Then said I, Ah Lord Jehovah! behold, my soul hath not been polluted; for from my youth up even till now have I not eaten of that which dieth of itself, or is torn of beasts; neither came there abominable flesh into my mouth.

I, Ah אֲהָהּ֙ ʾăhāh uh-HA
Lord אֲדֹנָ֣י ʾădōnāy uh-doh-NAI
God! יְהוִ֔ה yĕhōwi yeh-hoh-VEE
behold, הִנֵּ֥ה hinnē hee-NAY
my soul נַפְשִׁ֖י nepeš neh-FESH
hath not לֹ֣א lōʾ loh
been polluted: מְטֻמָּאָ֑ה ṭāmēʾ ta-MAY
of that which dieth of itself, וּנְבֵלָ֨ה nĕbēlâ neh-vay-LA
or is torn in pieces; וּטְרֵפָ֤ה ṭĕrēpâ teh-ray-FA
have I not לֹֽא lōʾ loh
eaten אָכַ֙לְתִּי֙ ʾākal ah-HAHL
for from my youth מִנְּעוּרַ֣י nāʿûr na-OOR
up even till וְעַד ʿad ad
now עַ֔תָּה ʿattâ ah-TA
