ஆதியாகமம் 1:21
தேவன், மகா மச்சங்களையும் ஜலத்தில் தங்கள் தங்கள் ஜாதியின்படியே திரளாய் ஜநிப்பிக்கப்பட்ட சகலவித நீர் வாழும் ஜந்துக்களையும் சிறகுள்ள ஜாதி ஜாதியான சகலவிதப்பட்சிகளையும் சிருஷ்டித்தார்; தேவன் அது நல்லது என்று கண்டார்.

தேவன், மகா பெரிய கடலில் வாழும் உயிரினங்களையும், தண்ணீரில் தங்கள் தங்கள் வகையின்படியே திரளாகப் பிறப்பிக்கப்பட்ட அனைத்துவித நீரில்வாழும் உயிரினங்களையும், சிறகுள்ள வகைவகையான அனைத்துவிதப் பறவைகளையும் உருவாக்கினார்; தேவன் அது நல்லது என்று கண்டார்.

பிறகு தேவன் கடலில் வாழும் பெரிய உயிரினங்களை உருவாக்கினார். கடலுக்குள் அலைந்து திரிகிற ஏராளமான உயிரினங்களைப் படைத்தார். பல்வேறு வகையான கடல் வாழ் உயிர்களையும் படைத்தார். வானத்தில் பறந்து திரிகிறதற்கு பல்வேறுவகைப் பறவைகளையும் படைத்தார். தேவன் இது நல்லது என்று கண்டார்.

இவ்வாறு, கடலின் பெரும் பாம்புகளையும், திரள் திரளாக நீரில் நீந்திவாழும் உயிரினங்களையும், இறக்கையுள்ள எல்லாவிதப் பறவைகளையும் அவ்வவற்றின் இனத்தின்படி கடவுள் படைத்தார். கடவுள் அது நல்லது என்று கண்டார்.
