ஆனாலும் அவர்கள் தேவனுடைய ஸ்தானாபதிகளைப் பரியாசம்பண்ணி, அவருடைய வார்த்தைகளை அசட்டைசெய்து, அவருடைய தீர்க்கதரிசிகளை நிந்தித்தபடியால், கர்த்தருடைய உக்கிரம் அவருடைய ஜனத்தின்மேல் மூண்டது; சகாயமில்லாமல் போயிற்று.

ஆனாலும் அவர்கள் தேவனுடைய பிரதிநிதிகளைக் கேலிசெய்து, அவருடைய வார்த்தைகளை அசட்டைசெய்து, அவருடைய தீர்க்கதரிசிகளை அவமதித்ததால், கர்த்தருடைய கடுங்கோபம் அவருடைய மக்களின்மேல் வந்தது; உதவி இல்லாமல் போனது.

ஆனால் தேவனுடைய ஜனங்கள் தேவனுடைய தீர்க்கதரிசிகளைக் கேலிச் செய்தனர். தேவனுடைய தீர்க்கதரிசனங்களைக் கேட்க அவர்கள் மறுத்தனர். அவர்கள் தேவனுடைய செய்திகளை வெறுத்தார்கள். இறுதியில் தேவனால் அவரது கோபத்தை அதற்கு மேல் அடக்க முடியவில்லை.

ஆனால், அவர்கள் கடவுளின் தூதர்களை ஏளனம் செய்து, அவர்தம் வார்த்தைகளைப் புறக்கணித்து, அவர்தம் இறைவாக்கினர்களை இழித்துரைத்தனர். ஆதலால், அவர்கள் தப்பமுடியாத அளவுக்கு ஆண்டவரது சினம் அவர்கள்மேல் கனன்றெழுந்தது.⒫

the messengers בְּמַלְאֲכֵ֣י mălʾok mul-OKE
of God, הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים ʾĕlōhîm ay-loh-HEEM
and despised וּבוֹזִ֣ים bāzâ ba-ZA
his words, דְּבָרָ֔יו dābār da-VAHR
and misused וּמִֽתַּעְתְּעִ֖ים tāʿaʿ ta-AH
his prophets, בִּנְבִאָ֑יו nābîʾ na-VEE
until עַ֠ד ʿad ad
arose עֲל֧וֹת ʿālâ ah-LA
the wrath חֲמַת ḥēmâ hay-MA
of the Lord יְהוָ֛ה yĕhōwâ yeh-hoh-VA
against his people, בְּעַמּ֖וֹ ʿam am
