எரேமியா 37:14
அப்பொழுது எரேமியா: அது பொய், நான் கல்தேயரைச் சேரப்போகிறவனல்ல என்றான்; ஆனாலும் யெரியா எரேமியாவின்சொல்லைக் கேளாமல், அவனைப் பிடித்து, பிரபுக்களிடத்தில் கொண்டுபோனான்.

எரேமியா யெரியாவிடம், “அது உண்மையன்று. பாபிலோனியரிடம் சேருவதற்காக நான் விலகிப் போகவில்லை” என்றான். ஆனால் யெரியா எரேமியா சொல்வதைக் கேட்க மறுத்தான். யெரியா எரேமியாவைக் கைது செய்து, எருசலேமில் உள்ள அரச அதிகாரிகளிடம் கொண்டு போனான்.

அதற்கு எரேமியா, “அது பொய். நான் கல்தேயர் பக்கம் தப்பிச் செல்ல முயலவில்லை” என்றார். அவர் சொன்னதை இரிய்யா கேட்கவில்லை. எனவே அவன் எரேமியாவைப் பிடித்து, தலைவர்களிடம் கொண்டு வந்து நிறுத்தினான்.

Then said Jeremiah, It is false; I fall not away to the Chaldeans. But he hearkened not to him: so Irijah took Jeremiah, and brought him to the princes.

Then said Jeremiah, It is false; I am not falling away to the Chaldeans. But he hearkened not to him; so Irijah laid hold on Jeremiah, and brought him to the princes.

Jeremiah, יִרְמְיָ֜הוּ yirmĕyâ yeer-meh-YA

not אֵינֶ֤נִּי ʾayin ah-YEEN
I fall away נֹפֵל֙ nāpal na-FAHL
to עַל ʿal al
the Chaldeans. הַכַּשְׂדִּ֔ים kaśdî kahs-DEE
not וְלֹ֥א lōʾ loh
But he hearkened שָׁמַ֖ע šāmaʿ sha-MA
to אֵלָ֑יו ʾēl ale
took וַיִּתְפֹּ֤שׂ tāpaś ta-FAHS
him: so Irijah יִרְאִיָּיה֙ yirʾiyyāy yeer-ee-YAI
Jeremiah, בְּיִרְמְיָ֔הוּ yirmĕyâ yeer-meh-YA
and brought וַיְבִאֵ֖הוּ bôʾ boh
him to אֶל ʾēl ale
