ரோமர் 11:6
அது கிருபையினாலே உண்டாயிருந்தால் கிரியைகளினாலே உண்டாயிராது; அப்படியல்லவென்றால், கிருபையானது கிருபையல்லவே. அன்றியும் அது கிரியைகளினாலே உண்டாயிருந்தால் அது கிருபையாயிராது; அப்படியல்லவென்றால், கிரியையானது கிரியையல்லவே.

அது கிருபையினாலே உண்டாயிருந்தால் செயல்களினாலே உண்டாயிருக்காது; அப்படியில்லை என்றால், கிருபையானது கிருபை இல்லையே. அன்றியும் அது செயல்களினாலே உண்டாயிருந்தால் அது கிருபையாக இருக்காது; அப்படியில்லை என்றால் செய்கையானது செய்கை இல்லையே.

Tamil Easy Reading Version
தேவன் தன் மக்களைக் கருணையால் தேர்ந்தெடுத்துள்ளதால் அது அவர்களது செய்கைகளால் அல்ல என்றாகிறது. தேவன் மக்களை அவர் தம் செய்கைகளால் தேர்ந்தெடுத்திருந்தால் அது கருணையால் அல்ல என்றும், செயல்களினிமித்தம் காட்டப்படும் கருணை உண்மையான பரிசாகாது என்றும் தெரிகிறது.

இவர்கள் அருளால் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்பட்டவர்களாயின், செயல்களை முன்னிட்டுத் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கப்படவில்லை என்பது பொருள். இல்லையேல் அருள் என்பதற்குப் பொருளே இல்லை.⒫
