எசேக்கியேல் 3:19
நீ துன்மார்க்கனை எச்சரித்தும், அவன் தன் துன்மார்க்கத்தையும் தன் ஆகாத வழியையும் விட்டுத் திரும்பாமற் போவானாகில், அவன் தன் துன்மார்க்கத்திலே சாவான் நீயோவென்றால் உன் ஆத்துமாவைத் தப்புவிப்பாய்.

நீ துன்மார்க்கனை எச்சரித்தும், அவன் தன்னுடைய துன்மார்க்கத்தையும் தன்னுடைய ஆகாத வழியையும் விட்டுத் திரும்பாமல்போனால், அவன் தன்னுடைய துன்மார்க்கத்திலே மரிப்பான்; நீயோவென்றால் உன்னுடைய ஆத்துமாவைக் காப்பாற்றுவாய்.

“ஒருவேளை அந்த மனிதனை நீ எச்சரித்து அவன் தனது வாழ்வை மாற்றிக்கொண்டு தீயவற்றைச் செய்வதை நிறுத்தும்படிச் சொல்லியிருக்கலாம். அவன் நீ சொல்வதைக் கவனிக்க மறுத்ததால் அவன் மரிப்பான். அவன் பாவம் செய்ததால் மரிப்பான். நான் அவன் மரணத்திற்கு உன்னைப் பொறுப் பாளியாக்கமாட்டேன். ஏனென்றால், நீ அவனை எச்சரித்தாய், நீ உனது வாழ்க்கையைக் காப்பாற்றினாய்.

மாறாக, நீ தீயோரை எச்சரித்திருந்தும், அவர்கள் தம் தீச்செயலினின்றும் தம் தீய வழியினின்றும் விலகாமல் இருந்தால், அவர்கள் தம் குற்றப் பழியோடு சாவர். நீயோ உன் உயிரைக் காத்துக் கொள்வாய்.

Yet if כִּֽי kî kee
warn הִזְהַ֣רְתָּ zāhar za-HAHR
the wicked, רָשָׁ֔ע rāšāʿ ra-SHA
not וְלֹא lōʾ loh
and he turn שָׁב֙ šûb shoov
from his wickedness, מֵֽרִשְׁע֔וֹ rešaʿ reh-SHA
way, וּמִדַּרְכּ֖וֹ derek deh-REK
nor from his wicked הָרְשָׁעָ֑ה rāšāʿ ra-SHA
he ה֚וּא hûʾ hoo
in his iniquity; בַּעֲוֺנ֣וֹ ʿāwōn ah-VONE
shall die יָמ֔וּת mût moot
but thou וְאַתָּ֖ה ʾattâ ah-TA
אֶֽת ʾēt ate
thy soul. נַפְשְׁךָ֥ nepeš neh-FESH
hast delivered הִצַּֽלְתָּ׃ nāṣal na-TSAHL
